Not from the I.

It's a WR screen...he's not dropping back and dumping it off, it's a quick fake and get it out to the WR. We ran it alot in 2002-2003

Power I and let JC Copeland bang heads. If we can get 4 yards on 1st down, that is huge momentum.

The technique in the steps of your proposed drop are suicide. You could run the same play out a a different formation with much more ease.

It's not suicide...Bama is expecting the run. They crash on ware and the ball is out of Lee's hands before they can get to him. You could run it out of the gun too, but the I Twins is more the look they're expecting. With Randle and Faulk hitting their blocks, and Shep/OBJ coming underneath, it should be dynamite.

What do you propose Shep and ODB do during this 3 second fake?
Posted on 11/2/11 at 10:33 am to Drew Orleans
You come off the line 2 or 3 steps forward faking stalk block, and then move back toward the QB.
Catch the ball and use Randle and Chris Faulk's blocks to get up the seam.

I run it right up the middle to test if our O-line can get any push on their D-line. Maybe im just old fashioned though.
I like your style.
Stand toe to toe and hit the sucka in the mouth and see what happens.

1st play -
i formation, two TEs to the right, fullback and RB behind Lee, Randle to the left. Handoff to Ware, he takes 2 steps then pitches the ball back to Lee who throws a rainmaker to Randle for the TD.
followed by an onside kick.

i think it would be a great call... their defense is gonna be so jacked up on the first play wanting to make a statement they're just gonna pin their ears back and would crash on the play action, plus with 2 TE's protecting Lee's backside i dont see bama being able to blitz from the backside and get to Lee in time before he dumps it off

No. You're looking to get someone killed on the first play. Either Lee or OBJ.

Won't allow enough time for Lee to do that drop and square his hips to throw.

Double reverse flea flicker with Stephen Rivers @ QB.

1st play... HAIL MARY!!
Hell, I almost wouldn't mind this at all. It would do two things: One, let Lee get all the bugs out on one throw and two, make Saban thing "wtf is Miles doing."

try to sell a run then get ready to catch a ball... same thing every WR does when they run a screen

THERE IS NO DROP. As soon as he pulls the ball on the fake, he's opening his hips and getting rid of it. I've seen this play run before. Sure, it takes timing but it is doable. I guess I'm gonna have to post a link of a video showing the play.
