very do-able... people think Jesus is on alabama's defense and u cant run play action against them... alabama's aggressive D is perfect for running play action

run it right up the middle to test if our O-line can get any push on their D-line. Maybe im just old fashioned though.

If I were Les Miles, I would start Jefferson. Lee would get 90%+ of the snaps, but I would start JJ just to kind of throw a surprise at Bama right away.

It might work/it might not, but it will keep Bama questioning what exact does Miles have up his sleeve.

Too risky first play of the game. Either play-action and throw it deep or run it up the middle. No need to get cute out of the gate. Worst thing would be to get someone killed or turn the ball over in Bama territory.

The screen actually is not a bad play to start with IF we are out of our own 30

some plays u will get push some plays u wont... running this on the first play is not gonna indicate any type of push u might or might not get for the rest of the game... not disagreeing with the play call but your logic behind it is questionable

I can't link the video from my phone, but it's called "Florida State vs North Carolina I formation play action weak side screen."

I like the play just not out of the gate. That play has sack or pick 6 written all over it.

eta: Bama won't be that far off the LOS on our WRs.

If that Florida state tackle makes that block, it's a TD

Dude that was PA to the left and a pass to the right. You can run it that way, but not the way you originally proposed it, unless your QB is a lefty.

Yes but that's not how you originally described it. And Bama won't be that far off the ball on our WRs.

Ok DrewOrleans...way to split hairs there...run it whatever way you want, but that's a hell of a play that is safe and easy and it has big play potential right out of the gate.

And pick 6 potential if the CB is up tight and reads the play.

It's not splitting hairs it an understanding of what must occur to run a play. Thank God that coach and Miles "split hairs," otherwise the play would have been a massive failure.

That's Randle's responsibility to block that guy. If their CBs are press to start the game, then u probably want to go with something else. But if they're back a couple yards, then it's on.
