why is everyone sold on Dave Aranda being promoted to Head Coach. The man has never been a head coach in his life and would be very risky. Why not go after a proven head coach with experience and a good wining percentage. We could be headed in the same direction and be stuck with another 2-3 years of failure. This would for sure sink the ship.

Promoting Aranda just makes look like even more of a clown show than we currently are

Because he can actually fricking coach. His work ethic is unparalleled. He has shown the ability to adjust. He has shown the ability to recruit. Just look at the great late haul at LB in the 2017 class. He has a bright mind.

I’m not sold, but if there’s no attractive potential hires, I’m okay with him becoming hc

I don't care. He's an extremely smart coach who has had tons of experience. He's going to be a great HC.

Nearly every HC has started out at one point being a coordinator/position coach

We'd look like jackasses once again if we cut ties with him and starts winning as a HC somewhere in Big 10 country for instance

Kirby Smart and Lincoln Riley had never been head coaches either. What’s your point?

ETA: I’m not saying he should be the next head coach, but this argument that you have to hire a proven head coach or someone with head coaching experience is completely retarded.

That'll likely be the best we can do after 2 more years of Ed and Joe running us into the ground.

Then we could get Saban back.......
Saban goes to the colts, gets canned and we get him back after O gets fired. Joe has this all planned upstairs. He's just not telling everyone!

FYI.....ED O isn't going anywhere. He has LSU by the nads and Joe is to blame!

I've said all along it's not going to happen. If O gets fired, so does Alleva. Do you think a new AD is going to come in here and hire the previous AD's hand picked successor for head coach? The only way Aranda becomes head coach of LSU is if Alleva is retained following a Coach O firing. I just can't see that happening, but given the current state of leadership at LSU, I guess I shouldn't be too confident they even get that right.
