how much does he really mean to the best secondary in the nation with the best DC in college football?

Per Insider****

Kevin Sumlin is finally in the fold as Texas A&M's new head coach. Now, he has a staff to fill out. It may begin with the hiring of the crucial defensive coordinator position.

"Aggies, sources tell me that LSU defensive backs coach Ron Cooper is a strong possibility as defensive coordinator," Lance Zierlein of the Houston Chronicle tweeted.LINK

TAMU is ranked close to dead last in stopping the pass this season and their best CB Judie will be gone. I can see why they want the nation's best DB coach as their DC.

They need to take up a collection of all the LSU faithful to pay that man whatever it takes to keep him here.

Call him Asst. Head Coach, too while they're at it. Coop MUST stay!!!

he means a lot. not sure if there's any better DB coach out there. he had some good DBs at SC too.

I was kinda worried about Sumlin making a run at him. pay that man, Les!

we'll find a good db coach. i'm sure people will line up with the db talent on this team and money we pay.

vance bedford would be a good choice. see if he wants to make more than 300k.

He'd be a good hire at either of those schools. I'm bummed a little.

If he wants to be a DC, he's gone. It won't be a matter of money.

I would hire Corey Raymond back.

So just because he's making 300k, he'll step down as a Defensive Coor. to take a DB coach's job?

That's a bingo!

I'm not sure Coach Cooper would want to stay a DB's coach for the rest of his career. His stock is just about at its peak.

He's been a DC 3 times and a HC twice already. Maybe(hopefully) he is satisfied with where he is and the atmosphere at LSU.

That's my prayer for the day.
