So...IF the Tigers get upset by UGA, they should not go to the BCSNCG?

The system is imperfect. That's why you should support Alabama going. LSU should go whether they lose to UGA or not. Who is better?

If Alabama gets a rematch it violates the spirit of the BCS, period.

not saying anyone is better but put a conference Champion in and let them have a try. Bama had theirs and lost. Now they are not a conference champion or their division champion.

THIS,

I want to beat somebody new and I want to 14 - 0 with different teams, my 2 cents

The funny thing is...this is the 1st year i've seen the voters actually want the 2 best teams. Every other year people bitch and complain about the BCS because the 2 best teams aren't playing in the NC. This year they want the 2 best teams cuz they want Saban to win.

Actually it validates the importance of the regular season.

OSU would be clear #2 had they not lost to Iowa State.

Even with OSU losing Stanford could be 2 had they not gotten run off the field by Oregon.

Speaking of Oregon even with loss to LSU they would be in conversation had they not lost to USC.

Not to mention VT coulda woulda had Clemson not beaten them.

No the regular season matters. It's just now we have to pick from a bunch teams that lost a game in the regular season.

Someone has to be 2. Who would you vote for?

As was asked above, what happens is Georgia beats LSU?

Then Georgia and/or some other conference champion should play for the BCS title.

Don't totally agree, it will resonate for a few years yes, maybe 3 but down the road 30 - 40 years from now people will only remember it we beat 14 different programs, not if we beat bama twice. That's how I see it.

I am in the school that if you don't win your conference then you should not have a shot at the MNC.

well, the goal of the BCS is to put the best team v the 2nd best team for the title in a bowl game

if those 2 happen to be in the same conference/division, then so be it

The argument by most against a playoff is that it would make the regular season less

So you acknowledge Bama is one of the top two teams in the country. Yet you propose to keep them form competing. Your definition of true champion is terrible.

By your defintion, Green Bay doesnt make a playoff last year. Fresno State never makes it to the college World Series.

The BCS is supposed to pit the two best teams against each other at the end of the year. It does so with much more regularity than a playoff.

I don`t want to see another defensive ball game with a low score, Bama had its turn so lets move on.

Say what you want , but we already know what we're up against offensively and defensively ....OSU would present a tougher test for the defense IMO.... Our offense will play better in the dome.

I really hate this argument.

This is why we need some sort of playoff, and I dont buy that "the season is the playoff" crap.

The 2 best teams should play, this year it will be a conference champ and the second place team from that same conference.

the BCS era just hasn't really had a legit argument where a conference had the 1-2 teams like it appears this year has

No, it isn't. Discussed in another thread.

I agree that of the BCS conferences, you should have to win your respective conference to have a chance to play in the "ship". Unfortunately I dont think that is going to happen this year. I think everyone focus is on the BCSNC, it should be on the SECCG. Talk about throw the BCS for a loop if(disclaimer: I dont think we are going to lose) we lose next week

I don't think the east and west coast media will allow an all SEC championship.

Bama in my view, is in the top 2.

BUT, a whole lot of people were certain that was the case when it was OSU/MICH and then what happened? BOTH of them went and got pasted.
