re: Idea of how Kiffin will handle load management during fall camp?

So you want your defensive linemen and linebackers hitting Leavitt and the RBs full-speed in camp?
Because we open with a P4 opponent... again.
Which leads to a side question- is Kiffin even here if we scheduled sanely, and opened at home with a creampuff game 1 like most power teams? Think before you answer: Kelly would have been 10-2, 10-2, and 9-3, with a trip to Atlanta, a home win vs Bama, and a Heisman winner the first 3 seasons. Last year we actually won the P4 opener, and it didn't help the team.
Personally, I think it buys Kelly more time, even though beating a Sunbelt team instead of losing to an ACC or Big 10 team isn't really an improvement.

When I hear load management now. I think of a coach who is misleading why his QB is not throwing the ball in camp, while hiding an abdominal injury and preparing for a season of WR screens.

Well, there’s laid managing individual players, and then there’s the team. I think the team has to go as fast as they can most days to get acclimated to the speed in which the offense plays at. Which affects the whole team.
The defense is gonna go back on the field quick a lot this year. Hopefully it will be due to mostly quick scoring drives. But there will be some quick 4 and outs that will be brutal on them.
And it affects the operations. So it’s coaches calling plays, relaying them, making subs, the QB calling the play, etc…Camp might start off a little slower than normal to make sure the offense is installed and Sam gets up to speed, but it should be going super fast most of the time to be ready to go full speed when Clemson comes to Death Valley.
I do really like what Lane did in the portal at WR, TE, RB, and OL. He didn’t go get the very top guys, but he got a lot of really good ones. Which should allow us to sub a good bit if necessary without a significant drop off.
By the way, do most of us realize how many RBs we have on the roster. And not just walk-on types. Berry and Durham are both back, and we got that big back from Nebraska? who a lot of people think is the best of the bunch. We all know those 3. But we’ve got like 4 more. Probably a decent drop off after the top 3, but I don’t think this offense needs an All American to be able to run the football. Will be interested to see a couple. Because we’re up big, not out of necessity.

Sounds gross. But I guess he should pace himself.

Clueless you are.
I don't think we fire him, if he's 10-2, 10-2, and 9-3 his first 3 years. With the bowl wins, that's 11, 11, and 10 wins.

Yeah and by LSU standards they were soft because of it. Good riddance to him.
