It is unfair. There are several teams that if given the chance can win the next 2 games. If the sos does not matter what no Wisconsin? They played an extra game that Bama didn’t. What the heck is eye ball test in sports?

The only thing I'm outraged about is that LSU is nowhere near the playoff picture

It's kind of hard to take college football seriously for this very reason IMO. Why even play conference championship games? The playoffs ought to have some real criteria that doesn't include "the eye test." I don't know...maybe one criterion could be winning your conference

I would be in favor of winning your conference being an automatic bid. But the problem is, there are 5 conferences, but only 4 spots. So you have to expand the playoffs to atleast 6 teams for that to work.

Yep Colorado won it. They beat Nebraska 62-36 in the last game of the season

Nebraska plummeted from 2 to 4

So you'd be ok with Stanford getting in the playoff if they'd have beaten USC?

Look, I want an 8 team playoff where P5 conference champs automatically get in, along with 3 at large. But with the current format, conference champs is ONE factor, but not the ONLY factor. OSU lost twice, both badly. You can't ignore that.

I hear you and I'm not suggesting that be the only criterion. I'm just highlighting the fact that the current system is a joke.

I do agree with you about expanding the playoff. Open the field up to more at large teams and settle it fairly on the field. Hell, just look at any other level of football for models that could work and do it lol.

The committees way of backdooring in Bama when needed. Nothing more than that.

Fans who think the only validation is a national championship are what is wrong w the whole game

Why does any LSU fan care about it this much? We were out if it in September.

For me, I never watch BAMA except for when LSU plays them. So I could give 2 fricks about that one. I’m somewhat interested in GA - OU mostly because of Mayfield. Dude is a gamer. I honestly don’t really care enough to be outraged. And I’m not in the least surprised BAMA got another mulligan.

Oh but it does. The SECCG allowed Auburn to play themselves out while the team they beat by two touchdowns last week got to rest and still make it in.

Would you bet that Auburn would have beaten Georgia or Alabama without their running back, Kerryon Johnson.

What chance would Auburn have of winning the championship without Johnson.

THIS current Bama team DOESN'T deserve it

Why not?

They are simply better than Ohio St or Wisconsin.

THIS!!!

Or how about at least finishing in the top two in your conference. You do realize Bama is the 3 seed in the SEC this year. Not 1 or 2 but 3. No other 3 seed in the world would ever be considered except for Bama.

Interestig that this has happened only twice in the modern era...and in both cases, it was Bama!!

Ohio State got a playoff spot ahead of a team that:

1. Beat them
2. Won their division
3. Won their conference

No one gnashed their teeth here. Ohio State had 2 blowout losses in 2017 - hard to feel for them.

They finished 3rd in the SEC, 2nd in the SEC West and did not beat a single team in the Top 15 this season. Alabama did not have one "big" win the entire year and their SOS was garbage. One week ago they played a top 5 team and lost by two TD's and it was not a close game.

You mean like a 3 seed out of the big 10 last year Ohio state?

And again they get to play for ot all despite not even playing in the conference championship game. Anyone who loves CFB should be upset about this. It makes the sport a joke.

We play Alabama every year.
We can easily keep them out of the playoff. Without changing any rules.
Just win on the field.
