I'm not embarrassed to admit that I was not an Aranda fan and was elated to see him move on. However, after the past 12 months, I'm here to admit I was wrong and would even kick in a few bucks for a "Go Fund Me" account to bring him back! Yes, things have gotten that bad!

Aranda drove me crazy with his bend but don't break defense, but I would take that approach anytime to our current two-hand touch scheme we are currently running. It's plain torture to watch our defense because you know the big play is coming and it always does.

After 2019, I understood we would see a drop off on defense with the NFL draft, transfers and Covid, but I never expected we would fall completely to the bottom of the canyon.

I know Baylor had a tough year last year (2-7), so Aranda if you're listening, I think I speak for most LSU fans in saying, you have an open invitation to return anytime!

I want him as a d coordinator. LSU should only hire proven winners for head coach.

What was it about him or his defenses that made you not like him? His halftime adjustments were legendary. And his defenses got better as the year went on because he was constantly adjusting to optimize the talent. Compare that to what we have now and last season which is zero adjustments and zero clue why things are going bad.

I guess I just don't understand how someone can look at Aranda and what he did and think "this guy isn't good". I know you already admitted you were wrong, but what was it that you were thinking at the time?

I understand what you're saying, but I'm hoping O can turn it around. Our recruiting has never been better, but our coaching has never been worse. I think O knows this year is a make or break year for him, so time will tell. I agree with you that I would take Aranda back as a coordinator, not a head coach.

So what would Aranda have done better this weekend? Yet another fast food fair weather no nothing fan.

How about yall let the man get his feet wet…
In ‘05, after the Tennessee game, people said Pelini’s defense would never hold up. Then they played lights out till a very tired team gave out against Georgia. 06 and 07 were quite nice defenses….
The man called his first game in the Rose Bowl against a quality offensive veteran. He’s learning and getting better.
When a pattern unfolds, then bitch.

Um, I think you meant to reply to the OP.

THAT SAID...

Your question is basically impossible to answer, as there are far too many variables that would've been in play for the last two years leading up to this past weekend.

My guess, though...is that we would've played better against UCLA.

I’d say I’m glad you aren’t in charge of anything related to LSU football because you’re clearly an idiot, but I’m also not convinced those who are running the football program are any smarter than you. So here we are, I guess.

There’s a subset of fans who hate anyone who can take any credit away from O. Hell people tried to shite on Joe Brady all the time last year because he left for the NFL and those same dudes are the ones who held on to the “coach E is the guy who was the real OC in 2019” bullshite

My biggest problem with Aranda was he allowed teams to dictate to us, which allowed most teams to drive down the field in scoring position. My biggest problem with Aranda came during the Alabama game. After we score, Aranda leaves Stingley one-on-one to cover Smith and no help over the top. Alabama immediately notices it and throws right over the top for a touchdown. No way Stingley should have been left on an island by himself against the best WR in the country and Aranda didn't make the adjustment.

I dont know why this is being downvoted, he took an 11 win team and made them a 2 win team.
