Give him one more chance with LF and Harris. Just one more chance. Who's with me?
Me.
2016: a QB with a years worth of starting experience, sophs and juniors become juniors and seniors, we keep the top recruiting class (or at least a really good one).
I'll take that over a recruiting class in shambles and a new coach with a new scheme and new position coaches trying to implement on the fly with some of the best talent the school has seen. Will Les blow it? Probably. But it's just as likely that a new coach in his first year will, too. We can't wait one more year? We're going to can Miles so that we can scoop up Tom fricking Herman? Tom fricking Herman can't wait?
And I'm a Negatiger since 1/4/05.

and then we will have wasted a once in a generation talent.
I come in peace. We're normally on the same side of things (except for, maybe, religion), and especially when it comes to Miles. But I feel like a new coach may be just as likely to waste that talent. Remember, the new coach will have a different offensive philosophy that Harris will have to figure out, and in turn will affect how well the rest of the offense figures it out. A bad system that Harris understands (after a year's worth of starting experience), will likely be better than a new glorious system of offense that he doesn't understand. Something that we've learned: Fournette is only as good as the players around him against the very best of the West.

I really think that LSU and our fan base will the butt of many jokes around the rest of the country and especially in the SEC in a couple years if/when CLM is ran off. When we end up hiring some mid-level coach who is our 4th or 5th choice and plummet into SEC bottom feeders with Vandy and Kentucky we will be the laughing stock of college football - see Tennessee after Fulmer!
You can count on one hand the other schools in the NCAA that wouldn't jump to have a coach with the results that LSU has had in the last decade.
I've loved LSU since birth and I cant believe how delusional and spoiled our fan base has become (which only exists because of CLM's amazingly unbelievable run). It appears that a majority of our fans think LSU is too big to fail and I'm afraid that the unrealistic expectations will be the main reason a proven HC like Jumbo won't want any part of it, why leave an established P5 program where hes built a considerable amount of equity/job security to come to LSU where he has to be damn close to perfect and not have more than 1-2 down years (8-9 wins now considered a down year at LSU) or you get the boot.
I really want someone to tell me why any top notch, established coach would want to step into that type of situation?

Too many people look at his overall record and are satisfied. I really don't think we are as spoiled as some make us out to be. I personally understand that a normal program (not Bama) has ups and downs. What I'm looking for is that the downs are not complete failures and that the ups are competing for a championship.
The best thing about Les is his consistency. He consistently wins 10 games. He consistently beats out of conference opponents.
The worst thing about Les is his consistency. He may win 10 games, but his losses are to the same teams. The teams that stand in our way of competing for SEC championships and National Championships. Though he wins non conference games he consistently under performs in those games. When is the last time that we beat a team the way we are expected to beat them.

1 more year... gotta keep that #1 recruiting class.. he just needs to get his filthy hands off the offense and stay out of way.
call your trick plays, but stay the frick away from the offense.

I am cool with it.
Back in the day you didn't expect QBs to mature until Junior year.
Let's see Harris beat Bama 42 to 38 in the natty finals after LSU beats Bama in the regular season too. 15-0
sunshine pumpers anon.

I hope he's here next year. The meltdown on the Rant would be epic.

In. Except I want Miles back for 4 or 5 years. Win the ship next year.

These threads are getting a lot more upvotes than they were two days ago.
Seems like our fans are talking the big talk, but now that it's coming down to it and Miles might be on the way out, they're nervous as hell.
