For a supportive post, this is an absolutely damning statement:

According to most LSU fans at the time, the worst OC in the history of LSU was Jimbo Fisher.

He wasnt the best and wasn't the worst. He was middle of the road.

Then he left to go to Fla St and overnight he became the best OC in the history of LSU.

Middle of the road is way better than end of the road.

LSU fans have a long and proud tradition of eating their own. Damn shame, IMO....

Who have they eaten? Do tell.

And the offense got worse under the sophomore years than it was under the freshman years. It is regressing until we can't regress any more.

Still waiting for an answer to the question.

No other team in the nation played against Florida, Bama, Georgia, and Ole Miss's defenses with a freshman QB did they?

Using an irrelvant stat like that shows how ignorant our fan base really is.

Neither did we. Jordan Jefferson is a sophomore.

There are plenty of reasons to support Crowton staying. It basically comes down to him putting together great offenses with JR and SR QBs. We should have had that the last 2 years. Kicking off a 5 star QB that has been on the team for 3 years tends to affect offensive performance, probably a lot more than people want to let on. He can't be blamed for that.

3 points against Florida. 112th in offense in the country. Even if we had a 2 star freshman QB with an all freshman offense, I would expect better than this. There is no excuse for how bad we are offensively.

Every coach and almost every player is terrible, according to LSU "fans." Until they leave.

Saban was crap, except for one year. Even that year, he was blasted for how he handled the Florida game, which we lost at home 19-7.

I just don't take much stock in LSU fans anymore when they criticize one of our own. In fact, I wish this board would be a little more strict enforcing this: "5. DO NOT engage in baseless criticism of LSU athletes, coaches, administrators or recruits. Legitimate evaluation of a player's performance or a coach’s ability is allowed, but personal attacks and insults are prohibited."

i never really cared for crowton, but at first he did get the job done.

but

i am not a fan of this stat either. if you really think all 111 teams that were ahead of us would have had the same success with our schedule (not that it was that difficult) then you are fooling yourself.

yes, the offense sucked/sucks, but when you have teams that play nobodies all season long and put them ahead of us its silly.

bottom line is our offense sucks. i am ready for crowton to go. but he will probably be here next year, and there will probably be improvements, and he might be here another year because of that.

We couldn't move the freaking ball on La Tech.

Come on at least get the facts straight

Lets be honest and tell me how many games separates J.J. from being a redshirt freshman.

Ok, put you fingers back in your pocket; three games separte J.J. from officially being a redshirt freshman.

For almost the entire 2008 season J.J. was being redshirted--period.

But it is not like our offense played powerhouse defenses either.
Penn State
Florida
Alabama
Ole Miss
Georgia

were the only defenses in the Top 50 they faced

Ummm he played in 7 out of 13 games, that is not almost the entire season

I know you are trying to make a point but at least know what in hell you are talking about.

When Terrell Pryor was JJ's age he led them to the NC game.

and there is the fricking la tech argument. a game that didn't matter. we ran the ball easily. we stopped to try to get lee ready for ole miss in case we needed him. people were bitching about how we stopped running the ball. how happy would you have been if we had just run the ball that whole game and blown them out, then turn around against ole miss with lee and gotten blown out? more goes into coaching than just trying to win a meaningless game.

edited because i got a game mixed up.

Point being we didn't have the 112th worst offensive team in the country.

That stat is totally bogus.

Pointing to 1 game is silly. In the 39 other games Crowton has been here we have scored under 20 points just twice.

Really? There is a time transporter now to carry us back the week before when we actually played Alabama.
Yep, we played Bama the week before we played La Tech.
