Gray sees only about 2 minutes in the second half and we blow a 14 point lead.

Without Gray, no one can break down a defense. He got us to the 16 point lead.

Then doesn't see the floor again for nearly the rest of the game.

If he was 6'3" plus, he'd be a superstar. He gets to the goal at will, but can't finish half the time due to lack of height.

I agree. He brings us to another level at times with a spark that nobody else on the team can bring.

LSU goes as Quarterman goes, at least a lot of the time.

He plays great for 30 minutes, we are dominating.

He kind of disappears the final 10, and we disappear off the bracket.

ETA: and lol at Gray getting us a 16 point lead. Quarterman had 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists in like 30 minutes.

Quarterman, Gray, and Martin got us that lead.

He must have ticked off jj; I couldn't believe he didn't play at least 10 mins in the 2nd half. He was great in the first half.

I wish we would have played him more. Patterson struggled to stay in front of Barber. His pentration helped open up the offensive boards for NC State.

Gray was great in the 1st half and really bad during his time in the 2nd half. I can't say I was wanting him to play more and I am a fan of his.

So you agree he drives the lane and is 50% from the floor?

What idiot doesnt take that all day long?

bullshite. The decision to swap Patterson for Gray in the second half was the beginning of the end. Patterson had just hit two big threes to keep State at bay. Jones took the ball out of the hands of the best playmaker all night (Quarterman) and put it in the hands of a one man half court offense killer (Gray). LSU lost its flow on offense because Gray refuses to keep the ball moving. Once he gets it, it is a bad decision waiting to happen, beit a horrible contested shot at the rim or a refusal to make the pass to get the ball moving to an open shooter.

This was game 33. The first half was an anomaly for both he and Patterson (missing good looks). The 2nd half was a return to normal and Jones should have never, even for a second, taken the ball out of Quarteman's hands and put one of his most clutch shooters on the bench

He played badly in the 2nd half. This was truly Tim Quatermans game. He controlled the tempo the entire time, pushing the ball and backing it out and slowing it down to run time off the clock. Free throws were the ultimate deciding factor.

True! But what he's saying is that Gray can get to the rim at will. it would be nice if he could finish but LSU would be better served if he initiated the offense with penetration and set up Martin &Mickey for easy dunks and put backs and passes back out for easy threes on the perimeter. The only play that is successful when our bigs touch the ball is the high-low offensive set. Its been proven that Mickey doesn't dribble well thru double teams and Martin darn near charges attacking the rim off the dribble and they both step on the baseline on wing passes into the post
GRAY WILL DEVELOP

Gray will be better next year when he tries not to make errors! Our backcourt will be awesome next fall!!

I hope so but time is running out. He will be a Sr. next year and quite frankly both Quarterman and Patterson have proved to be more savvy and valuable players. He was still making the same selfish plays in game 33 as he was in game 1. Gray is great in games with a frenetic pace (see UMass, WVU and Ark) because the floor is spaced and he can attack an out of position defense. The problem is those games are generally few and far between

Couldn't disagree more.

The second JJ took out Patterson and put in Gray is when the NC State run began. He tried to force a layup, got blocked and they came down and hit a three (5 point swing). I actually like Gray more than most because when he's finishing in the paint is when this team is at their best. However, at times, he tries to do too much instead of letting the game come to him.
