I thought all Joe wanted was for Wade to come meet?

“I wish he’d come in and just tell the truth,” Alleva told Stadium Basketball Insider Jeff Goodman. “Just tell me what went on. I can handle the truth even if it’s bad.”

So Wade fired his legal team, meets with admin and nothing is done. Again.

What are the waiting on? The deed is done, the season is over, either fire him and hire the best guy possible or reinstate Wade. This pussy footing around is ridiculous. This whole not doing a damn thing has led to two things only: your recruiting class is toast and the best candidates have already been hired. The lack of vision by our admin is incredible.

I would imagine that they're going to discuss what Wade said in the meeting with the NCAA before making any decisions. It's obvious that LSU admins are overly cautious and they don't want to reinstate him without some sort of preliminary assurances from the NCAA that they're clearing him to return. That can't be done so quickly after the meeting IMO.

Yeah smart move. Work with the NCAA as much as possible. I wonder what Bowl Missouri is going to this year?

If the NCAA finds a smoking gun then LSU is gonna eat it anyways. I understand what you’re saying man and you’re probably right it’s just an extremely aggravating situation. Especially since LSU knew Wade was on the wire taps 6 months ago and they were caught with their pants around their ankles.

Overall I think the main goal is to not let this leak over to the rest of the athletic department. Still has been handled poorly but it's obvious that they are willing to let basketball fall to keep the NCAA away from the other programs

I understand that, the most disappointing part to me is that Joe knew Will was on the wire taps back in October.

Why were we caught with our pants down again?

Personally I would have suspended him initially to at least show you're trying to do something, then done an investigation. If you can't find anything in a couple of weeks, reinstate him before the NCAA tourney and release a statement saying we couldn't find any concrete evidence and we aren't going to run out athletic department on an unsubstantiated media report.

And you make sure and have the phrasing in the release “Innocent until proven guilty”

Your already better at this then Joe.

Your post is shallow. They finally meet, and the content of the discussion is being assessed by the LSU admin and the NCAA. Keep in mind, LSU must decide if Wade is guilty of bribing players, and our admin needs to angle for LSU to NOT be put on probation. That is what mature organizations do that you don’t get. Wade got himself into this shite.

I read somewhere that the NCAA took the lead in the questioning, while LSU just became an observer!! If this is true, LSU is trying to find a way to whitewash themselves...

Well if the only way they can find out is by talking to him then why bother? Yep he got himself in but the clown show at LSU is embarrassing. Since you’re obviously trying to get some sort of intellectual high ground. Why didn’t your mature organization investigate this on their own?

Not true.

He just ADDED Steven Thompson to his legal team, his previous lawyers are still on board.

Because Will Wade lied to him and said that was the extent of it

Are you really taking that wording that literal? Lol

Will Wade has avoided this for weeks, and you are sitting here like this isn’t extremely complicated. It’s like you’ve never made an important decision in your life

I believe you are correct. However, there is no question, the legal strategy changed when the new guy was hired.

your post is shallow. LSU knew OLOL happened last October the same time that it knew WW was on wiretap. They did an investigation and found out that there were inappropriate benefits given to the family of a student athlete. That student athlete was NOT on the basketball team but the cash cow - football. Hoping it wouldn’t be discovered, they waited. When it was picked up in the media was coincidental with the release of the Yahoo story. In an effort to show some semblance of integrity in the vain of being proactive about compliance, they were offered an out with suspending Wade to avoid the dreaded “institutional control” penalty because they were caught.
THIS IS ABOUT MONEY! IT IS ALWAYS ABOUT MONEY! Football funds all but 2 other sports. Get your head out of the sand and realize this admin is incompetent.

As a follow-up to a previous email on why I’m not donating this year, I sent a screen shot of the WWL poll they ran on who the fans supported -Alleva or Wade and I received this response:
With the recent public launch of the Fierce for the Future Campaign, I hope you will soon feel a great sense of pride in what you are reading about LSU, though I understand that the campaign vision won’t negate the concerns you expressed. The LSU Foundation, specifically, is not in a position to address your concerns. We are in a position to encourage people to make an impact by giving, and we respect your decision not to give at this time.

How do you know they haven't tried? How does anybody know what the administration does or doesn't know?

So they left it to WW? Now it apppears they are still waiting for WW to tell them what to do. The guys you’re defending can’t figure anything out on their own? Oh well “he hasn’t talked to them” I guess that freezes everything.
