Running a big time football program is his strength.

That's odd because not one Big Time program is even considering him.

He's been here for 12 years and now is a free agent and not one bigtime program has ever tried to hire him and isn't trying to hire him now. The Michigan rumors in 07 and the Arky bullshite were both made up by him to get a raise from us.

The difficult thing to digest, is that if Miles had not been so stubborn and would have been willing to hire a true OC last year with autonomy, we'd be staring at 10-1 or better with a very bright future.

I am not sure you can make that assumption. MIles wasn't just limited by being stubborn regarding a caveman offense, he also wasn't a great organizer nor did he pay attention to details. Miles teams played down to competition and we frequently were in "hold your breath" finishes with his philosophy.
One of the earliest worries about him within the football offices and athletic administration was that he was not detail oriented.
The guy was worse than people suspect. 2011 doesn't happen if Frank Wilson doesn't convince Miles to offer Mathieu.

LOL even your not that dumb. You good and damn well his age is the least of concern with hiring him. His stayed of offense is 66 years old and his practice schedule isn't much better. Yea if miles was younger ever team in the nation would be after him lol and I'm the dumbass

You dont understand how cfb works if you think someone that won 70% of his games in the hardest division in cfb wouldnt get offers. Im not saying i know he would be successful but he would get offers. He has been a successful coach at every HC stop.

Do you believe any of these other coaches wouldn't be getting offers because they are 70? Saban, Harbaugh, Meyer, Stoops? Come on man you know why a big time program isn't calling.

Well respected former (then current) AD Skip Bertman disagrees and has said so publically many times.

Miles turned down more money from UM to stay at LSU - he loved LSU and was loyal.

He was loyal to a fault in sticking with Cameron as OC for this season. If he replaces Cameron this season, he's still our coach virtually regardless of record.

Miles will land at a quality program --- but the job must be available. It may not be available this season, but between this season and next something that is a mutual fit will develop for him.

And I will wish him well and much success as he was good for LSU over a long period of time - he gave us the best chance to compete with the top program in NCAA history (Bama under Saban).

Ehh, you dont try to fire a guy for 2 years to hire ed orgeron.

I can say with confidence orgeron doesnt reach 100 wins here. ill gladly eat crow if he does though.

If youre saying Miles isnt as a good a as the 3 best in cfb then i agree. Thats doeasnt change the fact that If Miles were younger he would get offers. He has been successful at every stop. Cfb is full of retread hires and you really think a coach with 2 successful tenures at P5 programs wouldnt get offers? Come the frick on.

Youre trying to talk to a guy that has admitted to hating miles since his 1st game here.

look Orgeron is taking over a program in worse shape than when CLM took over so we will be able to compare the 2 in the future based on how each fared here.

Youre stupid. Miles took over a program with 2 top 15 finishes in 7 years.

Orgeron is taking over a program with 4 top 16 finishes in 5 years.

Miles took over a a program with 1 top 5 finish i over 2 decades.

Orgeron is taking over program with far more prestige and national appeal than when Miles too over. You dont know cfb if you cant admit that. We have been a perennial good team for miles' 11 years. Lsu's program is more prestigious and has more national appeal than before miles took over.
