Article in The Advocate this past week says Mainieri doesn't know if one of the three is gonna make it.

Yea one is a walk-on. He made that quote last week during his pre-season press conference. Go back and try to find it if you didn’t catch it. It was a good listen.

Yeah, I know. But as of today, there are 3 lefties on the roster. If one gets cut, there will be 2.

Me and Jethro are good at cipherin’.

Ok ok this is getting juicy but if you have a short memory I remember the cats we went into the season with last year and we monkey fricked a football all year long.

Those guys were mostly freshman and either came in hurt or got hurt shortly after arriving. Everyone of them are now healthy and the only arms we lost were a streaky Hess and Peterson.

If they stay healthy this staff is going to be something special. We just have to get the young bats to come around and give them some run support.

I know that you know and I think you know that I know that you know.

I was more so including that for the kids in the back.

I know you’re joking but it is a conversation worth having. I’m feeling real good about the arms due to the increased use of technology. This stuff has been available for years I don’t understand why the college game has been so far behind in implanting it.

I’m just hopeful that we come around to using it more extensively on the offensive side of the ball

Well with the “new” idea of hitting coach we should come around at the plate I’d hope.

I kept saying I wasn't going to get my hopes up about this staff, but damn it... Here I go.

Henry - a true, absolute ace. He could be drafted very very very early in the draft. Every good team needs a true Friday night guy, and he is that guy.

Marceaux - could be a typical Friday night guy, pitching for us on Saturday. He showed flashes of it last year. If he brings it, series could be won on Saturday.

Labas - he might be what we always hoped he would. SEC Saturday guy, starting on Sunday. When we are in battles against the best in the nation and it's 1-1, we will almost always have the edge on Sunday. If somebody turns out better than him, then the midweek teams will have little chance facing him on Tuesday.

Hill - he's chunking 97 in Jan/Feb. Idk how much they will stretch him out, but if they gradually extend him, he could be your third Friday guy throwing on Sunday. If not, I wouldn't be surprised to see him closing some games.

Fontenot - hit stuff is straight filth. He has already shown he can extend if needed. He may fit best for this team in late innings, because we are that good. He will start closing and Hill's progress will determine the rest.

Beck/Vietmier - both were good last year. We know what they are. Ceiling isn't as high, but they are solid arms.

Hilliard/Walker- a healthy, freshman, Hilliard/Walker was great for us starting. They can't crack that role on this team, because we are that good. Like the previous two, his ceiling isn't as high, but he is damn good. Having either as a midweek starter is amazing.

Storz - now I'm going to drink the kool-aid. One scrimmage at 89 and the next at 91, and looking good. If he progresses, his stuff can reach mid 90's. Your 4th Friday night stuff guy on this staff.

Kaminier - sleeper of the staff. A lefty, throwing 91, is bringing it. Yes....I said lefty. I'm thinking he will have some stuff to work out, but as the season progresses, he will play a huge role.

There it is. I'm all-in now. Best pitching staff in the nation. My hopes are officially up.

It’s not the college game in general that’s been behind, it’s LSU. Look at how many college pitching coaches got hired by mlb clubs in the last couple years. And how many interviewed this off-season. College coaches have been the innovators with the tech. That’s been my frustration as to us not using it, I knew our competition was.

Still though, the arm injuries have primarily affected freshmen, and we only have one of those.

Y’all keep saying and acting like this was “new” for Paul Manieri without any knowledge of the subject

I don’t follow college baseball deeply enough to know who is using what but I do follow deeply enough to know what is out there and it has bothered me for awhile that we weren’t employing it and if we were we weren’t effective at it.

I’m still disappointed in the lack of offensive tech for us and maybe it’s there but they’re just not talking about it but I doubt that

With all that talent and we didn’t win a NC? Skip must have been a fricking bum of a coach

Some of them did. Not all of them. Also have to hit the ball. That 1989 team did this though and set the foundation to be honest.
