Is there an Oregon board with solid LSU discussion??
There's been some decent UO-LSU discussion on eDuck.
You'll forgive them though if the discussion has been dominated of late by certain other topics.
Go over there and start something up, but keep in mind that it's more moderated than the Rant.

Most boards i see are dominated by beaver (not the good kind) and husky talk.

Well played with the Tenn. jab. But the first half was dominated by their Defense and untill they got winded it wasn't looking so good for Ya'll "you all". I think LMJ had 25 yds the first half. Tenn. wasn't able to prepare/condition for your fast pace offense. And by no means am I taking Oregon lightly for LSU. Even if you were a middle of the road team. We have won the openers, but not in a pretty way.

You really think the coaches aren't specially prepping for this game? LSU does extremely well with time to prep for an opponent. While most people think this game will be a cakewalk, I think it will be a lot closer with us coming out on top.
What's the O/U on how many times the "prepped and ready" LSU LB's and DB's will get confused and out of position during the game? Opening the season on the road against a top 10 team with a great offense without Nevis, Sheppard and Peterson will be a problem. They're going to get beat during the game. Just how many times is the only question. Not trying to be negative. I'm a realist that doesn't wave pom poms.
33-30 Final. Something like that. Lady Luck (Tigers best friend last year) determines who wins in the fourth quarter.

I breathed a big sigh of relief when they didn't call the game at the half.

Good thing Oregon doesn't have to worry about humidty and thunderstorm soaked grass fields.

i'm very concerned. i'm not sure we win the game. we have too many question marks on offense and oregon is a legit top 5 team.

if lsu's defensive line can get penetration and their linebackers and secondary do not overpersue then they should be able to contain the Oregon Offense to some degree. Oregon is still going to gain yards and score we just have to make them earn the yards.
Our offense needs to run the damn ball down the defensies throat with a little playaction.
I liken it to how some people perceived the giants/patriots superbowl a few years back. No way the giant were going to win.
The giants layed some big hits on the pats offense and got lucky with their offense.
Lsu needs to lay some wood and run the ball.
lsu 28- oregon 17

I agree we need about 200 yrds of passing to keep the defense from stacking up the line.
We also need at least 2 td's passing and 0 int's and we should be in good position to pull off the win.
This game will by no means be a cake walk and I have it listed as LSU's third harderst game this year behind alabama and arkansas. I would have the oregon game above arkansas but that is our rivalry game.

So what are you looking for? Do you want LSU fans to concede defeat to Oregon 4 weeks out?
Maybe I should go ahead and sell my tickets and cancel hotel reservation, because "the LSUSaint" said I should be just as scared as she is.

Any intelligent Lsu fan is very afraid of this game. The problem is 20 percent of the board are intelligent sports fans. The rest ate just raving lunatics who would swear that the tigers are invincible and incapable of losing a game.

Whoever is calling for an 'easy win' over the Ducks simply doesn't know football. I think LSU has an edge and will prevail, but - BOOK IT - this one won't be won until late in the fourth quarter. The Ducks are for real. I just don't think they can withstand LSU's pressure for 60 minutes.

This one won't be won (or lost) based on the opinion of this message board either. That was my point.

I should feel guilty about being a little enthusiastic about our chances. I should go into it thinking that LSU is gonna lose, only so I can shite on everybody's good mood on the way to Dallas. If I see an LSU fan in Dallas, I'm not gonna say "Geaux Tigers", but rather I'm gonna say "hope we don't lose". That'll show how intelligent I really am.

PDXanus. Dont put it past Les to somehow win the game only playing till halftime. Lol

It really scares me when I hear all of the LSU fans talking about running it up.

...only the P & G nitwits figure on a run-up-the-score "easy win" ...
..this could/should be described as a "could go either way" game ..

Speaking of nitwits, I think most people understand that the Oregon game could go either way. I mean, hell...it's the highest ranked team LSU has ever faced in the 1st game of the season.
But what the other "nitwits" don't get is the passionate and starved LSU fanbase that had to endure another shitty basketball season in which we are a big fat non-factor and pushover. And then to follow up that we had to deal with baseball which started out great and then went into a complete downward spiral in a hurry, only to battle back to miss the tournament by a pube.
So yes, we all have level heads, we're all intelligent, but we're ready to show a little pride and bravado in a sport again. And this year's football team gives us good reason to do just that. So you're gonna hear people a little over the top excited and giving blowout predictions, etc. It's completely expected given the situation.
I can't believe I had to type that out. I figured that everybody got that and it was completely obvious, but I guess the nitwits need to have their hands held and everything drawn out on a board for them.
