bama has no business receiving an invite to the 12-team CFP...
This would set a horrible precedent for the inaugural year of the 12-team CFP. HOWEVER I could see the debate for a Saban-led bama team in the 12-team playoff. bama would be in if they won one more game.

I don’t think Alabama should get in over SMU for the reasons stated in my posts above. However, I think Alabama does get in and you IMMEDIATELY hear cries to expand the CFP to (at least) 14 teams.
Because of their inconsistency the committee will have F’d up the 12 team playoff literally before it even begins.

They DON'T deserve to be in, but, they will be in. A team like OU will be in the Playoffs. Let that sink in.

there is a difference between unranked teams, and teams with a winning record. SMU has ONE win against a team with a winning record. Bama also beat Ga and SC....who, incidentally, beat Clemson.....SC beat them at Clemson last game.

make a case for SMU....seriously? You think beating one team with a winning record at 7-5 makes them worthy....or was it they played close to a 3 loss team? That is absurd. If schedule doesn't matter then LSU needs to drop Clemson asap.
