I'm telling you guys, the best jerseys, with the exception of the home whites, were worn in the 1996 home game against Vanderbilt. Vandy forced us into wearing something other than the home white shirts, so LSU brought out the gold jersey shirts with white pants. The shirts were gold, with no stripes (as I recall, but I could be mistaken on the stripe issue) and the numbers on the gold jersey shirt were white. The pants were all white, no stripe down the side...just like the Texas Longhorn white pants. The helmet was the traditional gold helmet seen every Saturday. I have not seen that jersey combo before or since that game. Can't find a picture of it anywhere...that said, my mom saved the Alexandria Daily Town Talk sports front-page, and there was a pic of Kevin Faulk high-stepping into the endzone. It's probably somewhere in their storage shed. LSU won 35-0. I don't believe the game was televised.
I've also thought an all-white version of our current home jersey's (white pants with the traditional stripe and the regular home white shirts) would be awesome with the current Gold helmet.

That's the problem. I've tried multiple search engines, multiple times and can't find any images. No YouTube, either (as I think the game wasn't televised...plus who would hold onto an LSU/Vandy game from 1996). I'll keep trying, and if I ever find one, it will be my avatar or sig pic.

Not a big shoulder stripe fan...kind of gaudy. I'm even less of a fan of stripes on pants. All of the great jerseys in the NCAA--Penn State, Texas, Michigan--all lack stripes. Stripes are very NFL-esque. That said, I like them on our home pants...it mixes well.
And the numbers on the OP's original pic of the jerseys look like that 1990's number graphic the 49ers used up until last season. Not a fan. Maybe it's just a bad angle. Definitely do not like the stripes on the white pants.
