Most of the negativity is outrageous.... I mean I get frustrated at particular games/plays but I don't run to this board and post about it like some do. Usually it becomes outrageous when an individuals emotions are still running high after a bad play/game or when people can't let go. I know a guy who if LSU losses a game you don't want to talk to him for a week because he is so pissy.
I think a alot of fans are same way, they are hardcore LSU fans they just are emotionally over invested.
Some are just plain stupid in some of the criticism that you see on this board and those are usually the threads people all mock the OP.

Negative fans may as well take a hike because Les has a NEW---SEVEN YEAR---- contract which keeps him here through 2018, It is time for everyone to get on board!!!!

Not really... I mean I understand you are trying to make the argument work for you and I do understand now that Crowton is gone many negative fans have turned the corner. However, there are plenty of negative fans on the board, about 10% would be deemed the extreme situation much like you are on the other side of the spectrum.

Ok, I am very positive when it comes to LSU football, especially the last tens years and beyond, because of what Saban and Miles has accomplished, you know the list. Why are you so negative about the last 10 years.

Who said I was negative? You are assuming because I popped in this thread to mock and point out flawed logic?

even Saban faced massive criticism and cited it as a reason for leaving in 2004, imagine if the rant was around then we would've flamed on Saban too

The rant was around and please link the story where massive criticism was a reason he left

You do realize that doesn't mean much correct? Yes he has a new contract but if he was to falter in anyway LSU could get rid of him. Contracts these days are not worth the paper they are printed on.

There once was an otter named Trotter
Who daily dug in dumps for fodder
One day in the dumps out came his prodder
Covered with mump lumps made it hotter

A gosling saw Trotter's prodder sputter
Making her geese guts all a-flutter
She wished she had an otter udder
To woo him with her wily gutter butter

Then there was a roar and a boom and a flash
Truck came by and gave Trotter's face a gash
Gosling went under the tire red and brash
And both their bodies ended up in the trash

I love you Trotter

The rant also did not have the amount of members as today, however I can attest that another board I use to visit attacked him after UAB game. Then against in 04 after the Georgia game when he did not have the team prepared. However, the amount of people on TD compared to those boards makes those threads seem paltry.

By the way, you are aware that TD switched servers in 07 and one can only search back to 07 now. I've tried to find my first post and it only let me go back to 07.

it's ok you don't have to be honest, you accomplished what you wanted to.

BTW, you posted just a few minutes ago about people being to emotional and causing them to react negatively, are you so blind not to realize that, that is basically what I was stating in the OP.

Where I posted about that had nothing to do with my original post. Which was asking you how many threads this offseason were you going to make attacking fans you perceive as negative.
Where we got into the emotional aspect was with another poster who I was conversing with you unlike yourself did not resort to name calling when confronted.

I am still curious, why do you feel I am negative just because I popped in this thread to mock you. Is it the defensive mechanism that because I mock I am the opposite of yourself?

That is a true staement there. You could never be me and are the total opposite of me. Have a good life with your "PRISSY" friends.

I think you're missing my point. I would like to see an article or source where Saban left because of criticism. He did like it here but his dream was to hoist the Lombardi. That's why he left.

More continued name calling I see..... I am glad you have proven yourself incapable of an actual conversation and instead willing to stoop to that form of expression. It not only says a lot about yourself but about your intelligence.

At some point real soon the guy is going to have to win another Western Division or SEC title to deserve credit for being a great coach and a threat in the SEC.

LSU is primed this year...

Upperclassman at every single key position
OL/DL is both stacked
You have 3 running backs who saw action last year (Ford/Ware/Blue)

You have a Senior TE (Peterson)
You have 2 receivers who are experienced
You have a starting QB and his back up that both have starting experience
The secondary is scary

The issues are Kicker/Punter and Linebacker... At Linebacker however you have talent and you have 2 guys that have played a good portion of games. You are just missing that leader of the defense in Sheppard.
With the Punter field position matters and Helton had more than a few games where he dictated field position for LSU.
Jasper won more than a few games with his leg and the coach had enough faith in him to run fakes. Will Les have that same faith in a guy who hasn't kicked yet?

if your school would've had the same run as LSU in the last 6 years and be in the position LSU is in for 2011, would you want Les Miles as your coach?

The differnce is, with the talent Miles has had, most good coaches would have had another 3 or so, SECC and at least one more NC appearence if not wins.

THATS what sucks. We have been the most talented team in the country with the worst record every year Miles has been here. Excuses for losses are getting old. Even Chiz dick went undefeated and won a NC. And he is a C- level coach. at best.

No. LSU lost both of those games due to defense mishaps. Did you watch either one?

I might have glanced at the game every now and then...of course I watched the games!

We lost to Auburn by a touchdown and again to Arkansas because of a lack of an offense in the second half. Look at the Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and the First Half of the UNC games if you don't beleive me.

Our offense going up the field gives our Defense time to rest instead of coming out every five plays! They do get tired, you know?
