it sure would be alot easier to know how good those big 12 teams are if they played decent OOC games

That is the worst proposal imaginable. Why in the hell does Bama have to play Troy to prove that they are a champion??? That is ludicrous.
The fact is not everything in life can be wrapped up real pretty and put into standard size compartments. Div 1 football is too big (almost 200 teams??)to fit nicely. The road to a national championship will always be messy. I am holding out for a 6 team playoff, thats right two of them get a bye.
Troy vs bama...how moronic. Must be some geek that prefered playing nintendo on a sunny sunday afternoon insted of gettiing into a sandlot football game with his buds in ole lady Smiths sideyard!
