Now - yes.
If you had said that before the Arkansas game I might have agreed with you. If you had said it before Ole Miss I definitely would have agreed. But the fact of the matter is that JJ demonstrated he KICKS arse in the Arky game. Too bad our D fricked us.

  Nope never seen that kind of tiger head.
Big frickin' Deal
quote::confused: That's 22 teams - a 5 round playoff with 10 teams getting a bye in the 1st round. This would virtually guarantee the best team did not win.
I wouldn't me upset if the top two teams from each conference were included in a playoff.

16 is too many damn teams. A 7-4 Troy State team should get in the playoffs? They lost to LSU for crying out loud!
4-8
Auto-bid conferences should be based on who has won recent championships.
For instance, an 8 team playoff should have 4 auto-bids given to the last 4 conferences to have a team to win the NC. (SEC, Big 12, Pac 10, and Big 10 right now)
The other 4 should be the top 4 ranked teams other than the 4 autobids

I'm sure its their top priority. After all - its Congress's job to only worry about whatever happens to be the #1 issue at the time. Under no circumstances should they ever address a #2 issue or anything less important.

NO

How is it anti-trust?? The 6 big conferences signed off on this.
??? A prerequisite for a trust is that the 6 big conferences all agree to something.
Of course what they have to agree to is price fixing - and the BCS seems like a stretch for that.
quote:A trust can be formed when several companies get together and conspire to fix prices.
It's not like one company has a monopoly on it.

Why its better if the Gumps win the NC instead of Florida
Posted by KingKoopa on 12/3/08 at 10:51 am
Let's not be blinded by our hatred for Saban. When I look past my Saban hatred at the facts - I think its better if Bama wins the NC as opposed to Florida.
Reasons:
1) LSU will have TWO recent NC opponents on their schedule in the near future instead of just one. This is good for the human polls where perception is everything.
2) LSU will remain the only program with 2 BCS NC's, but will still be from a conference with 4 recent NC's either way.
Which looks better?
LSU
USC
Texas
Florida
LSU
Alabama
or
LSU
USC
Texas
Florida
LSU
Florida
the latter makes Florida look like the most recent dominant SEC team. The former makes LSU look that way.

They fricked things up enough already with Title IX
Clearly Title IX has destroyed college football. College football is a smoldering remnant of what it once was before Title IX.

Congress cannot impair the obligations of contracts and ESPN has a contract thru 2014.
But they can get the FCC to deny ESPN the permits it needs to operate unless they release their counterparties from those contracts. Or they can purchase those contracts just like they can force people of their land to build dams.
The Federal government has lots of means to get their way. Look at the drinking age in Louisiana, it was raised to 21 primarily due to pressure from the federal government in the form of the withholding of federal highway funds.

Was Teddy Roosevelt not President at the time or something?

I like college football as much as the next guy but the last thing I think congress needs to be worried about is football.
Its clearly their top priority.
quote::confused: Someone predicted LSU would be playing a Staffordless Georgia this season?
I seen this same prediction for this season and look how that panned out. Just sayin'
Last time government got involved in football the forward pass got invented, so maybe this is a good thing.
