Where we want to be, that ability will be key to a long run.

Yes it is important. Some don’t like it, but it is an important piece for this LSU Club!

Damn near each and every time we needed to move a runner over, we did it tonight. This team is doing everything right this weekend. They have an extra spark we haven’t seen much of this season.

Whichever team comes for the Supers is getting their asses swept next weekend. No one is beating our two aces the rest of the way with they are pitching of late.

braswell and stansfield can bunt teams into oblivion, they started it, and now many people on this team can bunt for sacrifice and base hits… milam was on base 5 times tonight… and stansfields game is just improving in leaps and bounds… and he homered tonight… so many ways for this team to produce… speed, smallball, largeball, sacrifices, hell even hbp.. and now, we are in control, anybody left in this region is deep in their pitching if not already through it... geauxtigers!!!… speaking of smallball, did anybody see the squeeze bunt pulled off by utsa to finish off texas… the batter pushed the bunt past the pitcher… runner scored before anybody could field the ball… and everybody was safe…

Before this season, I have never liked it because we couldn’t execute. It seldom resulted in anything productive and often made us look downright terrible. This year however, we can execute a lot better and the mere act of showing bunt and pulling back on a ball just frazzles defenses!

Dude it’s pretty fun without regard to effectiveness.

It forced DBU into mistakes which compounded effectiveness.

Credit consecutive shut out wins to small ball when the Tigers scored 12. How about a shout out to the elite pitching.

Gorilla ball is for really talented teams.

Small ball is for really well coached teams.

for some reason (the fact that he thrived last year in big postseason moments) I never worried about Milam in postseason. Seems like a player who steps up in big moments.

Remember when there were posters questioning why JJ had guys bunting in mid week games early in the season when LSU had a commanding lead?

They seemed to be using every situation to just see what they could do. Mostly worked which was great to see.

The base running has been incredible. In past years it seems we botched anything we tried like squeezes etc. really impressed

Hernandez has really impressed me with his baserunning this weekend. He's not particularly fleet of foot, but that's not the only way to be productive on the basepaths. There's been a handful of instances where he's made some really smart yet aggressive plays.

Base running has been average to bad THIS season. Johnson was blasting F Bombs on TV a couple games back for base running issued by Curiel and others.
There have been multiple times runners were thrown out at home because they couldn’t execute a safety squeeze by reading the ball or trying to score from second on a hit.
If you want to blame the 3rd base coach for all of it, you’re incorrect.
