The vitriol does seem a bit much at times, but a lot of people are still very angry about that game.

No...I don't think that...
I'm just trying to be objective and responding to what he said....
I was afraid he may not own it...Pride is a big deal.... He laid it down...that is all I am saying
If this is true, it is the first time in two years that he has owned up to his mistakes. He also got a better D.C. but he could have gotten a younger and better. He is a good family man and that is easy to see. But, he could come clean and man up when officials dump on his team. Trent Johnson and Paul Maneri (spelling?) would. And I understand if we have a family problem, we work on it from inside. Just be a man making $4 Million a year!
But we can't ruin kids careers and risk the future of a prominent program.

I was wanting a scale of forgiveness, how bad can somebody frick up and still be forgiven for "owning up to it"

Unfortunately, Miles was more prepared for that press conference today than the game on Saturday.
He explained the last few minutes in detail.
He obviously put a lot of thought into it.
He was more articulate than usual.
However, many things bother me about that.
He claimed that the 2nd pass to Tolliver was the right on the 2 pt. conversion. He's wrong. 50 yard fade from the 1 and 1/2 is the wrong call.
He still didn;t own up to calling for the spike.
It would be understandbale if he called for the spike with :03 left and the clock went down to zero. But he won't own up to that.
He needs to go.

have you watched the press conference?
Does Les Miles strike you as a liar? He maybe a bad clock manager under pressure, but I don't think he is a liar...and moreover he doesn't throw coaches or players under the bus...He never has, even when fans demand he should at times.... He just doesn't roll like that...now anybody with common sense knows that JJ is coached to not take a sack on those calls...at that stage of the game....Les would love to have run the ball 3 times and kick it...but he trusted the OC and JJ....20/20 now huh?
If you look at how he handled the staff changes last year, that should tell you at least the kind of character Les has...
Fine, we can beat him up on his coaching, I have done my share, but I don't think it' fair or just to beat up his character...I think that crosses the line, based on his track record, and what he said makes sense...

Even if they don't trust the coaching staff, they will play for the seniors who want to leave TS with a win.

Did you hear his explanation?
the spike was not even in the stat book as an offensive play....the game was already over before the ball was hiked!

Apex, you're quickly becoming one of the bigger idiots on this board

I agree that a run in my opinion would have been better for the 2pt conv. But to say he is WRONG for making that call is not correct. That is a judgement call. Out of 50 coaches in Major D1 football you might have 50 different plays that could have been played in that situation.
There were some things that were wrong by Miles but that call on the 2pt conversion wasnt WRONG by any means. That was just their plan.

If TT comes down with it, everyone would be yelling, what a call!
Just how it works

He seems like a Great guy, but is not a leader. He was absolutely lost after the sack. He was caught up in the momment and didn't get the T.O. He wasn't prepared for the deep pass to be caught.
I like him and will pull for him where
ever he goes, I just hope that is next season.

WOW... poor guy... jackass makes 3.8 million a year... i'd go and tell anyone that they can have my kids for that much. Not really.. but... How in the hell can he say one thing one day... We're suppose to believe that.. then.. today.. he says another. I dont have a lick of compassion for him. If I made as much as him.. I'd tell you what you wanted to hear as well. So long Les.. We should've learned a long time ago.. When LSU made that interception against A. state.. and you tried to call a time out.. That should've told us back then you didnt know that the f you was doing.. much less pay you what you've made the last few years...

Didn't understand that either. I even qustioned the fade the first time, it's such a precision pass but to run it again, thought maybe they would look like they would run the fade again but run a slant the second time.
btw...If Miles so so prepared for this press conferencetoday wonder why he said "uh" 224 times in the 14 min 33 sec he had. Not too smooth....
