I actually liked that part of the offense. Defenses had to account for it every play.

It's ok to run every now and then as wrinkle but not as a staple.

I agree its a good play so defenses have to cover all aspects, BUT if you put Trindon Holliday in to exclusively run jet sweeps - it is already defended.

we'll have it some, but we are clearly going to be a vertical team. Probably won't run jet sweep more than a handful of times.

The jet sweep is a great play with the right personnel and was easily our most successful play last year, but if you have a really good passing game, you can fake the sweep out of the same set and really do damage by freezing the defense. Hopefully, we can have more wrinkles in the offense than last year. Our red zone offense wasn't that creative last year (though I know we had limitations). I would definitely keep the jet sweep, but do more than just run out of that set.

Now a bad play, just not 6 times a series.

With WR depth, it can keep them fresh while wearing down the D.

The strength of the offense is clearly WR. LSU should be able to go vertical and get some slot guys in space.

I don't give a shite if they "don't know the offense". Sullivan, Davis and Anderson (if eligible) are physical mis-matches no DBs can cover. Get them vertical and throw ball up. Let them "rebound" over 5'11 CB's

Well it was mentioned in a recent article that they plan to install the jet sweep into the offense, to what degree isn't known.

I agree with one poster mentioning PA fakes out of it, would create huge problems for the defense, especially with our huge but fast WRs. It would also create doubt from the LBers and Safeties coming up to stop it.

IMO LSU should have 3 or 4 different PA fakes out of our most successful run formations. Some quick, some longer developing and at any point of the field or any down or distance.

There aren't many 5'11 cornerbacks in the SEC. Jump balls won't work all the time.

I think the poster was referring to nickle backs, since he said the slot. Our nickle over the past few years has been 5’10 - 6. But I agree jump balls don’t work every time. Recently we haven’t had play making type receivers to take the 50/50 ball consistently.

The jet sweep is the only way LSU moved the ball on Florida. God what an ugly game

this is it. crowton's personnel packages determined the plays run and it was obvious to all. however, our TE ran one against Bama one time that was very successful. ya gotta catch their defense off guard.

you think most corners are 6'3"? We have a big height advantage over most CBs. Never understood why we didn't try to take advantage of that last year, especially in the red zone.

I think the jet sweep is a great play. For Canada, it was a major part of the game plan. Ensminger will be spreading it out more, but I hope the sweep is still utilized to some degree. It will add to the rushing game and give different looks to make the defense defend it.
