Listen carefully...I intentionally said from the state of Indiana, not from any Indiana university. Mauck had already left the Cubs, and was living in Indiana at the time he reconnected with Saban here at LSU. Sooooo, he came from the STATE of Indiana to LSU.
BTW, Matt is a team dentist today for the Denver Broncos and is a current member of the Denver LSU Alumni group here. He occasionally attends our crawfish boils here in the springtime.

But he wasn't a transfer.

I feel the same, it's hard not to always have high expectations. But when I look at all the talent we lost last year and the results we had, it's hard to expect better than 8-9 wins.

Except for Bama on the road, I don't see any team on the schedule that the Tigers don't have at least a 50% chance of beating

More so than any other year before.
I agree but only because of the change to Canada's offense. The rest of it looks the same:
-Questions at QB
-Offensive line depth
-Solid to stellar defense
Really we're still in the legacy period of Miles recruitment failures at QB, OL and DL plus attrition at WR.
If Canada is really a guru on offense then it will at least be entertaining. Color me cautiously optimistic. On the plus side, it's not ground and pound; it uses misdirection; it spread the ball around. On the downside, it's going to wear out the WR with all the motions.

This year with a new offense cord, will have to wait & see. The offense is much harder to teach than defense!

We loose talent every year and every year we sign talent. Haven't we averaged about a top 5 class for the last four to five years? O has been on staff three years and acting head coach most of last year. He is not new to the program and the talent is not new to him. This is not the normal new HC or normal new staff situation. There is no good reason for our expectations to be as low as eight wins.
We should start with a 5-0 record. To finish 8-5 would mean we crapped out big time in the last eight games. It would also mean Alleva is the dummy I fear him to be.
10-3 is acceptable or 11-2. Anything less is not.

Indeed, and it's refreshing. No expectations, no pressure, just gonna enjoy watching Key, Guice, etc.
I have to agree. Realistic or not I've really expected the Tigers to be in the hunt for a ship over the past several years. Going into every season everything looked great on paper. The roster has been so loaded with talent, except of course at QB.
So going into his season I don't have any disillusions of grandeur. With a new coach, a new OC, and still no QB to speak of, I have no idea what to expect. But it should be fun to just watch some football games without the pressure of worrying about the playoffs.

I'm a 'glass half full type of guy.
