just want to say the same. Ill watch games and the occasional re-cap stuff but nothing other than that.

it somehow just struck me one day that all of the "opinion" stuff was utterly and 100 percent meaningless. it was a total waste of my time. its often people who know nothing on the subject (like wilbon a few days ago, or anytime pti talks about mma), or people just saying dumb shite to be edgy.

ive had to do a lot of radio interviews and stuff like that for work, AND I PROMISE YOU, in a situation like that, when someone asks you a question, you need to start talking immediately, and it may be something you have no clear opinion on or havent followed closely. but you have to talk anyway. so you just talk. because you have to say something.

what you said is now on a permanent record and it might be something you didnt even mean or intend to say, or something that just came out wrong.

or its people who constantly flip-flop because they have zero accountability. some new team/coach/player will be the new best or worst every week depending on who theyre talking about at the moment.

THIS IS THE VAST MAJORITY OF ESPN COMMENTARY.

its people saying random words to fill time.

marcus spears knows the SEC, but if you asked him about Washington i doubt he'd know anymore than we do. he cant watch every SEC game and keep on top of that, AND every Pac and ACC and 10 game and be an authority on those as well. no one can.

and even he will be told to toe a line to not upset any contracts espn may have, so the SEC expertise he does have is not always useful.

none of it is real. none of it matters. you might as well spend an hour listening to that sound you get when you accidentally call a fax machine.

Why do we care what anyone thinks about LSU nationally? Just win.

You are being naive. If you want to win, you need the best players. The best players watch ESPN and it influences their opinions of teams. So, we should care about what ESPN says if we want to recruit the best to win.

I generally enjoy the CBS cfb coverage on CBSSN. It's 100 times better than ESPN.They have fun and keep it light. Like sports should be. I haven't watched those drive-by "analysis" shows where guys talk out of their arse with any regularity in years. Same with all this bottom-feeder Finebaum shite.

count me in the same boat. haven't watched gameday in about 10 years. i can't stand it. i understand they're trying to bring the college atmosphere to the broadcast but honestly, it's chaotic and distracting. plus i couldn't care less about what espn people think or have to say. it's mostly scripted shock value.

i don't like sports documentaries. i don't listen to the post game show. i don't listen to the weekly show. i don't listen to sports talk radio. i can't stand coach/player interviews. same old sports speak; try hard, limit mistakes, score points, good opponent, etc. i swear i can predict what they're going to say. and the questions are so inane.

aside from watching games, i have started watching booger and doering after the games are over. they do a good job.

How do so many of you know what ESPN is all about when you have all claimed to quit watching it for years? Morons like you are worse than the talking heads on ESPN.

because i am frequently at other people's houses or a restaurant/bar and they have it on. i feel like if you had thought this through for just a few seconds, you could have figured this out instead of acting like an arse.
