I truly appreciate the depth of talent CLM has built through recruiting. And it has paid great dividends. But the truth is, lack of consistent execution is what has held this program back from being a multiple championship dynasty.
Poor execution, from players or coaches, is an issue at times with most teams. But if a championship is your goal, you have to be solid in this area too. Not perfect, just consistent.
I have been posting this since the Towson game ended. This is the main reason for the love/hate sentiments so many have with CLM.

Texas Tech will never come anywhere close to the recruiting talent pecking order of LSU.

I think the parity in college football and the strength of the SEC, namely the western division is what makes this difficult. We are a player for a title every year in the toughest division in the toughest conf in America. That's awesome.

I love how people doing their best to try and defend any criticism of Les rebut any criticism of the offense with "You want Texas Tech's offense and less wins?"
Who on here is clamoring for Texas Tech/Air Raid offenses? Some of you are so blind and literally such lemmings that you can't even have a single critical thought into how things work.
Fans aren't upset about the lack of passing plays. It's the overall type of plays and when they are being called. You can win with having only 20 different plays, hell even 5 plays as long as you aren't predictable with them. LSU's problem under Les is he is predictable and very stubborn over the past 3 years. He'll see 10-man fronts and do nothing to adjust with just running it up the gut and praying that our OL works.
In the end, Les is hard-headed and selfish. It's his way or the highway and it cost LSU titles in both 2006 and 2011. Furthermore, he had to luck into a shot at the title in 2007.

I also very much enjoyed that. You know who does things like that? Interim/interim head coaches like Aaron Kromer.
I also enjoyed the third and 2 play where they were obviously going to run, but lined up their best blocking TE and best blocking WR way out wide lol. It was great. I knew that play would fail when I saw Clement going line up near the sideline. They should have lined Copeland up out there with them, and use Russell Shephard as the fullback.

I know you don't understand this, but the idea is to have a semi-competent offense in addition to the great defense. Not sure why all you Les Miles defenders think it has to be one or the other.
How many times did Leach have an LSU defense to go along with those offenses? Since Miles took over, LSU has won because of special teams and defense, and Miles' offense has been one of the biggest jokes in college football.

Miles is a good coach because the talent he has is sick. When he runs into a team with similar talent and better coaching, he loses.
He will go down as the best coach in LSU history, but also one who could have done so much more with the talent he had at his disposal. People say these are the Golden Years of LSU football, well I'd say our golden era was squandered

3 plays stand out to me. Obj's fumble, Obj's drop on a critical third down in the 4th quarter and the 15 yard penalty on Muncie that should have been a 15 yarded on FLA. If those plays are executed/called correctly, we win the game. With that being said, try to remember that the loss yesterday was a one score loss to a top ten team on the road. Nobody circles the wagons, like the LSU Tigers!
