Right....after a great win over Oregon, lets be very critical of our starting QB.......
You are an idiot..........
like last season with Jefferson, expect critisism from our fanbase of our QB even after wins. It's just the way it goes around here.

must admit I dont want to see Lee suddenly start taking hits to make some of you happy with his manhood. We have no other tested QB.
Jefferson is not likely to be back this season. We have to roll with Lee and Mett. Both are capable QB's and with Crowton gone, the offense should be alot better. Just give it a little time to jell.

StatMaster it is obvious you don't watch much LSU football because last Saturday night Lee stepped up in the Pocket Twice and made good throws that were dropped and Jordon Jefferson was just as scared. Notice I said was.

Lee made a nice throw to Peterson over the defense when Oregon was stacking the box. Was good to see a good play call like that. Was executed perfectly. We need more calls like that this season. We have enough talent to contend for the NC with Lee at QB if we can make defenses pay for stacking the box like that.

I just hope that tonight the coaching staff takes the opportunity to really work on the passing game. 98 yards isn't going to get it when we get to SEC play.

Your post is ridiculous, insulting, and unnecessary. I've seen him step up and get hit to make a throw. Given our current situation, we really don't want a quarterback to get hit much-we don'thave a credible back-up yet.
What is the point of criticizing the young man after a great win over Oregon/ He's shown a lot of guts coming back from a horrible start to his career. Why even start this post?

First post in this crappy thread. JJ may have played dazed, confused, and even stupid sometimes, but you're dumb if you think he ever played scared or afraid of contact. He's tough as a stump.
As for Lee, I hope he becomes a world beater since he's what we have, He did some things well, and he can improve.

I don't know. What is ever the point of it? What was the point of it last season and all of the offseason? It's just what LSU fans like to do with the QB. They think they are more knowledgeable than the coaching staff

Instead you chose to arrive at "lack of toughness" based on nothing and that is illogical given that he has shown comparable behavior/reactions with other QBs.
If he is tough or not I do not know. But it does appear to me that he is putting a lot of effort into avoiding getting hit. Maybe I am not correct, maybe he is just looking to hit or get hit, but from I have seen it looks to me like he is trying to avoid getting hit.
Do you not see this? Or is it that your favorite qb is now starting and you refuse to see anything that he can improve?

You ever watch Ken Stabler play pro? LOL

Our RB's are scared! I have watched them ever since Hester left and they all try to avoid hits. Our RB's suck!

Did you watch the game sober?

Maybe, maybe not. But tell me, genius, how much sense does it make for the starting QB to deliberately invite un-necessary hits?
Now give that big computing machine back to your sister and go play on the swings.

To be honest "this fear of getting hit" "toughness" didn't strike me the first time or when I watched the game again a few days back - but I wasn't looking for it.
During the fumble pile I do remember thinking that it was a good thing that he kept out of it because we couldn't afford to lose our only QB with experience in the very first game.

HE IS my favorite QB because he is the STARTING QB for the LSU TIGERS - don't need any other reason.
I am not being blind to his faults
- do I have the same good feeling in the passing game when we had flynn or JR or even mauck -no!
but that doesn't mean that he should be blamed for other imaginary reasons.

Not much on being objective are you? JL is your boy and the facts do not matter.
Gotcha

My sissy told me I could play with her big fancy computer machine thingy a little bit longer.
She says there is a difference between inviting hits and focusing on not taking a hit. She says you need to grow beyond your man crush on JL and learn to discuss football like a man instead of one of her whiney girlfriends. But she does agree with you that JL is cute and would be a shame for him to get a boo boo from one of those big ole lineman trying to hit him before he throws the ball.

JL is all of LSU's boy now. Let's not let it turn into what it turned into last season with constant bashing of our QB by so many of our so called fans. JL has the tools to be a good QB and with a good OC calling the plays we might be able to have a decent passing attack this season. No good came of bashing the QB last season and no good will come of it this season either.

Cal
He is my favorite as well, I think we have a much better chance of winning with him in there than JJ. His ability to read defense and look to his 2nd or 3rd option gives a much better opportunity to score and win.
I am not downing or trying to discredit JL, I like him. I like his fortitude for sticking it out at LSU. But I see an area where he can receive some coaching and improve. This does not make me a JL hater, except in the mind of some on here.

I am not intending my comments to be bashing. Well, bashing of our QB, I do get frustrated at some on here that attack when someone points out an area that needs improving.

I was impressed with his willingness to stay in the pocket and get hit.

i guess you know better than the guy that gets paid $4 mill. a year who the best qb is.... why dont you go sign up to play for lsu, and maybe you could teach JL the correct way to throw, or better yet..... u can sit in the pocket fearlessly while 250-300 lb. beast try to eat your arse for lunch!! LOL...
