What does Mark Emmert do when he is not giving Nick Saban and Roy Williams blow jobs ?

With 10 teams from the SEC making the tournament it’s unavoidable.

Remember the year 6 of the 8 teams in Omaha were from the SEC?

No because that never happened. 4 teams have made it twice, once in 1997 and in 2011.

Giving the top four SEC teams 1, 4, 5 and 8 without an absolute measuring criteria is deliberate.

So now we’re complaining about the SEC getting 4 top 8 seeds? Sounds like some of you think the committee should try to ensure a maximum number of SEC teams make the CWS. That’s not how it works nor should it

That's not how the matchups work anymore for the top 16 tho

I think they still tweak things. It wouldn't be hard to move a team one or 2 spots either way to get the matchups you want.

They're trying to be a national sport now, and it's assumed the champ will either be Southern or Western. So they massage the numbers to make the CWS as interectional as possible.

When your conference has four of the top teams, had two teams in the final last year, and a majority of champions the last 10 years, it’s earned.

I’m mainly talking about the top 16 but they also could have easily avoided Auburn as a 2 being matched up with UF. If two Conference teams as 2 seeds make it through and get matched up oh well but it’s not that difficult to avoid having a conferences number 1 seeds having a potential matchup with a conference foe. This isn’t just an SEC issue either, it was done to the ACC and PAC also. The top teams from those conferences are on the same side too.

When did I say it wasn’t earned? I just fail to see why the NCAA is expected to delineate regions to ensure SEC teams don’t play each other. That is basically the message this thread is making. They put 10 teams in different regions to maximize how many teams can make supers and SEC fans still complain.

What year did we beat Bama in the finals? If my memory serves me right there was one year where all 4 teams on one side were from the SEC and LSU was on the other side. I think Bama, State, Auburn, and UF were on one side and LSU was on the other.

1997

Alabama and State were on one side of the bracket and LSU and Auburn on the other. No conference has ever had more than 4 teams make it to Omaha.

In 2011, Vandy, USC, and Florida made the final 4 in Omaha.

100% agree with you. A group of us were watching this morning while cooking. When ole miss came off as the 4th seed, I said Arkansas next, then 2 acc team and then Georgia. Then the committee puts 7 sec teams on one side and all pac on one side. They can still manipulate this tournament. I have no problem with LSU going out west. Hell, Stanford could’ve made a case for #1 seed and they may have toughest regional.
