He's also stayed in the lime light since his retirement with TNT and endorsements

Kids know him

Ummm isn't that what a recruiter does? However I think he could recruit for basketball and football.

Oh sure they know who he is. But they dont really know what hes done.

Y'all are overestimating his status cuz yall are biased as LSU fans. The kids hes recruiting have never seen him play.

I know who a lot of NBA legends are too but if I've never seen them play they dont have as much influence as a Kobe, Lebron, AD, CP3, etc.

Today's kids don't even know who shaq is anymore. None of them remember seeing him play. And if that isn't true it will be soon enough.

That's worse than the OP

He already does that when asked and he does not need a precious coaching position to do it.

I bet you knock kids out the way trying to get autographs, don't you?

You think patronizing somebody with an old out of shape former basketball player (HOFer, I know) would effect a recruits decision?

Shaq would be good as a fundraiser for old guys with money that remember the good ole days from 20 years ago, and that's about it.

Hint: The rant you see, is made up almost entirely of contrarians, so if you don't want your idea laughed at you have to say, "please don't take my idea seriously".

You're welcome.

With the way the current LSU coaching staff is configured, I don't see a need for another position coach. Running a three-man front would change things a bit, though. At that point they may need an inside and outside linebackers coach. If Brick is still around that would be a natural fit, but not sure if he will be here.

If not, look for another recruiter to join the staff.

I love Shaq, but he is too big for that position. Would he really give up a dream job on TNT where he gets paid to talk shite to Charles Barkley on tv all day, so that he can be an assistant recruiting coach
