This is a weird take.
No one knows who is ultimately “orchestrating” this, obviously.
But simply because you’ve read posts from different people listing different schools as possible drivers of this doesn’t mean there aren’t several members of the SEC that have vested interests in seeing LSU taken to task and brought to heel.
The bottom line is clearly there are member institutions pushing this because Sankey works at the pleasure of the members. Which are leading or following isn’t really the point, is it?
Ultimately “the SEC” when it comes to what could happen this week, is just 15 old dudes, none of which have any reason to wish anything but ill upon LSU and the athletics program.
If you think personal motivations and animosities aren’t a factor here, you really don’t get it.

Texas blew up the SouthWest Conference, it blew up the Big12 conference and now will blow up the SEC.
