Started his baseball career as a player in 1976 here at LSU then to juco for a year then back to New Orleans for 2 years . I was just looking at his Wiki and saw that.
Lots of downvotes I’m sure but maybe a few of you never had it come up in casual conversation like myself.

He actually cut himself from the team and was coaching 10 year old travel ball, but he called himself back right before the season started.
