Bobby Petrino for OC but...

I mentioned his name six weeks ago and again during the off week. I see no harm in bringing him in as a paid consultant to brainstorm with Krags/Stud/Miles and if he was offered a position (which I doubt) and he took it (which I doubt) he would, IMHO, be a huge asset down the road. let's face it, Krags illness was a major blow to the developement of LSU's passing game and the nature of his affliction is normally one of slow decline. if you give a man (Petrino) a chance at redemption you've made not only a lifetime ally, but in many cases....a man changed for the better.

I'm pretty sure they all hate each other. College football doesn't work like Team of Rivals, those guys wanna work with guys they like. Well, everyone except the guys that work for Saban.

Petrino will never take a job less than HC. Why would he? HCs get paid more and he was the best offensive play caller in the SEC. Look at how hard Arkansas fell without him. He is an offensive guru.

He's a prick. How could you hire anyone who skipped out and left his team, the Atlanta Falcons, a written note that he was leaving. He didn't have the balls to face the team and tell them in person.

Bobby wouldn't work for les even if les was the athletic coordinator and gave bobby his pay to be HC.

Reporting live from Fantasyland...

IF we were in the market for an OC...
IF we were open to someone with a questionable past...

I would just wait until the end of the season when Mike Leach implodes at Wash. State and hire him.

Of course, if he makes players go sit in the "asbestos room" for punishment, that might not be good...

Petrino will be a head coach this year, probably at Auburn. They will sell their soul to the devil if they have to.

Good Luck with that. I was pretty close to a lot of the guys on Tubs staff and they all hated the prick when he was there. They were glad to see him leave.

Wouldn't be suprised if Auburn doesn't pick him up after they can the Chiz-man soon.

There is a lot of talk here in Montgomery about this. Remember, Petrino was the coach that Auburn flew to interview behind Tub's back in Jetgate.

A lot of Auburn people love him, including some very influential ones. A lot of Auburn people don't want him because of his affair in Fayetteville. Hiring him would mean a divided fan base, where some would never accept him. But that won't necessarily stop the power-brokers at Auburn from making the move.

I would love this especially with Chavis as the dc, I think we could be unstopable. This will never happen with Miles as head coach.

snake in the grass

don't forget, he was a co-conspirator to stab tuberville in the back at auburn

leopards don't change their spots

he'd cause discord and divisiveness

plus his wirless bill would be a budget buster
