I agree 1000%......it would also be a moot point if the offense could have mustered any runs for him. Luckily they scored 5 runs in the 1st game or they would have lost that also.

ETA: Wes Johnson is obviously a good coach, but he doesn’t seem the type to go out and have a discussion with his guys when it’s needed. I guess he prefers to let them sink or swim on their own.

With the newer stricter rules on mound visits and time limits, managers and coaches are now hamstrung when situations like these arise.

The biggest coaching error of the night was the called sliders in the eighth inning. We stick with fastballs and wake never takes the lead there

Yeah I think people are forgetting that the double came when Hurd had the guy 0-2 and hung a slider. Then, the RBI came when Hurd had the guy 1-2 and hung another one.

Wakes 3B coach knew what was coming too. 0-2 he called the hitter over and talked to him. Kid took a good slider just off the edge and then sat on the 2nd one.

The ump cost us the game. No doubt about it.

No

Crews, Dugas, Thompson, Joebert & Pearson going O'fer was the game

if this team gives up 3 runs and loses it's not on the pitching. Bats went cold and cost us. Morgan's terrible base running cost us the most.

You have 2 visits per inning, have to make a change on the 2nd.

Visiting Floyd after the first walk was absolutely needed IMO.

Floyd was one of the very few bright spots in the game. If not for those 2 WF errors LSU most probably gets shut out.

He pitched very well, but he still seems to always lose it at some point in the game. Floyd is improved, but in order to make it in the pros he has to develop command of his curve and change. At this point, Floyd is a talented thrower he has not become a complete pitcher. Hurd has the same problem, a lack of command.

Floyd has improved as the season went on and has been very good through 4-5 innings of late, but when he hits that wall the wheels come off the wagon quickly.

He pitched well for the most part but when he runs out of gas he runs out of gas. He has always been like that.

Floyd played very well, but lost control. It must be something with fatigue and his grip.
He should be great for us next year. Hopefully JJ brings in
4-5 more transfer pitchers.
