If you look at LSU's depth on defense it's actually kinda insane. They have NFL players in their 2 deep that says a lot at how talented their defense is.

Every national championship run, we were always loaded and never had a known “concern” pre season.

Well that’s just not true.

correct. 2003 was not cut and dried pre season. neither was 2007. neither was 2011 due to the QB situation. really neither was 2019.

Look, we have some better dudes but they are an unproven group with a lot of what ifs. We have two star LBs coming off serious injuries. Two potential starting safeties with no cohesion. The 2nd string safeties are not good depth. The CBs with exception of one don’t want to tackle and our best DT so far in camp weighs 260lbs. We have a lot to workout in season. It will not be tires screeching out the gate.

Over powerful edge rushers (we have) have a knack of getting taken out of the play with OTs who know what they are doing. With a running QB and aggressive DEs that leaves your LBs & Safeties on islands. If the DTs can’t eat blocks or maintain rushing lanes that’s spells trouble. Center field solo tackling will be key against Clemson. Need Safeties and LBs to play very disciplined.

We are going to see a ton of flushing routes against Clemson, the qb will run after second read when feeling pressure. The biggest question is can Weeks, Perk, Cooley, and Haulcy lock down the short field while in coverage/spying to kill drives. We do that and we have a chance at a W.

All the same years I was thinking about. Even 2019. We had no idea that we were going to be that dominant pre-season. 2007 was just an amazing series of events that got us there. 2011 was a huge question mark.

People have short memories.

That defensive unit was not a question mark at all before the season. Everyone knew we were stacked and the SEC was fricked.

No one said the D was a question. I said that there were question marks about the team pre-season. You remember our starting QB Jefferson getting suspended indefinitely before the season bc of a certain bar fight?

If that’s not a question mark, I don’t know what is

We are fricked.

Burrell is not an SEC kicker (doesn’t have the old Ramos accuracy). Big leg is not a complement.

should be over by half. Their d is trash and we should have 27-30 by then.

Their defense is elite. LSU o-line needs to gel quickly or Clemson defense will feast.
