some of you don't get it. Has nothing to do with Pot, dumbass. It has to do with team rules.
So, because someone breaks a rule of a particular organization, their character should be denounced?

If the reports are true, it wasn't even really pot. It was a synthetic blend with a similar effect that was legal forever until this year or so. If you've smoked both, you know that if anything the synthetic stuff is actually not even close to the real thing. It's the equivalent of getting in trouble for drinking the night before and blowing with alcohol on your breath the next day. Then again, since it's all you guys keep saying, I'm sure you'd never drink at night since your job may randomly breathalize you one day.

So they smoked pot? What's the big deal? Will it make them lazy? Steve Jobs tripped on acid. O'Bama had a coke habit.
If they had been caught with pot, it would have been the equivalent of a traffic violation.
Some of you apparently must not remember what it's like to be 20 years old.
I'm not sure they deserve any suspension.
I'm sure this exchange has happened more than once on the board today, but . . .
I smoked more than my share of pot in college. Kilos of the shite. I don't think it made me a bad person . . . BUT I knew the consequences if I got caught. And I wasn't on a team with a shot at a national championship. These guys were just stupid and arrogant. I'm not saying they're bad kids but they fricked up. One game is enough. I'd like to think they'll keep their shite straight from here on out.

Rumored it was k2. That could just be a cigarette that was sprayed with something. They might not even knew it, or they might. Only been illegal for about a year. It really hurts the team, and its becoming a National embarrassment to the program, but if you are at the top, you are going to get this type attention. Got to regroup, learn from mistakes, and go out there and whip some war chickens.

90% of the fan base doesn't give a shite what they did, except that it was stupid to do during the middle of the season and get suspended. Drama queens...

Then you have a want to be wrong. Mark that down.

I don't disagree with this. If I were the coach, I don't believe I would suspend them. However, I can understand the possible consequences of not suspending them.

If you have guidelines you bet damn well you would suspend them.

If you don't suspend them, then what is the purpose of even having the rules?

They broke team rules not once but twice.
It wasn't a very wise play on their part and anything causing players to miss games is a big deal to team success.
Having said that, some of us need to get over ourselves and stop with the "I'm so holy" BS.
18-22 yr olds make mistakes and they do it all the time and in all avenues of life.
The guys mess up, they take their punishment, and life goes on.

So, because one rule is not enforced, all rules are futile?

What other rule did they break?

You don't know how this shite works. As coach you have two choices. Hide the evidence, or suspend the players. There are established guidelines Miles has to follow.

I understand how it works. I also know it's probably not as black and white as you and everyone else is making it out to be.

The big deal is that it's getting them suspended right in the middle of big time SEC West divisional games. If they miss Bama for this, it's a huge deal. They are 3 starters and the team needs them.
what better way to test our depth...
