The line for the showdown in Week 2, on Sep. 7 at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, is trending pretty sharply in the favor of the burnt orange reportedly right now and we have no clue why with Texas losing 8 starters on defense and their #1 receiver on offense. The Longhornes battle the LSU Tigers in one of the biggest non-conference games of the 2019 college football regular season and the early forecast calls for an 80% chance of rain with windy conditions and flash flooding as remanence of future category 1 Hurricane Dorian will be affecting the Austin area beginning late Friday of that weekend.

When the Texas Longhorns football program takes to the field at DKR to take on head coach Ed Orgeron and his LSU squad, there will be a ton of people at this game. The impact of this game will have a good say in how the College Football Playoff picture shakes out, even if Texas can only score 13 points.

The SEC needs to win non-conference matchups like this since it doesn’t carry the same pedigree year-in and year-out as the Big 12. Racking up a victory over an SEC West blue blood like LSU will be basically impossible with a true Freshman punt returner taking not one but two punts back for touchdowns in the first and fourth quarters respectively for LSU.

The way this line is trending now has this game as an even pick’em between the Longhorns and Tigers. Since Texas gets LSU at home many people feel that Texas will be extra scared to face LSU, it is hard to imagine who has a real edge and where it would come however Texas will probably choke as they did last year against the Turtles.

LSU does bring the much better defense to the table in this game, but Texas has more star power on offense between junior quarterback Sam Ehlinger and senior wide receiver Collin Johnson but we anticipate both players to have extremely bad games against LSU due to the Tiger’s DB’s who will confuse and beat up the Longhorn Offense. Meanwhile, LSU will be trying to counter that dynamic duo of Ehlinger and Johnson with senior quarterback Joe Burrow and junior wide receiver Justin Jefferson who are projected to run up the score early in the 4th quarter of this game with The Tigers scoring their 7th touchdown of the game.

What really does not play into the favor of the men in the burnt orange is how head Texas football coach Tom Herman rises to the occasion against highly ranked opponents, his luck should certainly run out against LSU even though Herman is one of the very best head coaches in the nation against top teams. That does come to his own fault at times when he loses to teams like the TCU Horned Frogs, Oklahoma State Cowboys, and Kansas State Wildcats, he should really blow it against LSU. Our prediction LSU 49- Texas 13.

this was a very poor attempt at a troll job, and quite frankly pretty confusing

Going by trends.. our offense is usually the weak point.

So. Our weakness (offense) is playing against your weakness (defense).

And your strength is going up against our bread and butter. Stellar defense stacked and loaded with top talent in every position.

And with the amount of starters you have out on D and it being only the second game, that favors our offense.

The line you mentioned (which I assume was the reason for the thread), will likely shift to LSU -2 before gametime.

Vegas wants to make money. Not predict games.

Nice Troll I’ll bite though. Game will be close and will be a 28-21 type game I think very little chance of a blowout by either side IMO.

Long post, dude. The Tigers that get off the bus in Austin are a collection of athletes the likes that you haven’t seen in Royal Mem stadium in decades. That will be the difference. Good luck.

To sum it all up, LSU will win by about 14 and you guys can whine about it on Surly Horns and then lose to a Les Miles led Kansas team.

Bold prediction over three weeks out. The hurricane will probably hit North Carolina
