Auburn faces LSU every time Gus is on the hotseat. Somehow he pulls out a win against LSU and gets another 4 years.

not really. We played a game to decide which coach gets fired just 4 years ago.

To be fair, the LSU win usually only gets him his job security for the rest of the season and then he finishes off that year with a win against Bama that he leverages into the 4 year contract and blows the bowl game immediately after

The 2 Auburn fans I am friends with hope thwy lose every game this year by 20 so they can finally get rid of Gus. They can't stand that he is mediocre but pulls out his lucky horseshoe to beat either Bama or Georgia to save his job every year. It is just where we were with Miles by the end.

Please, we beat the shite out of Clemson and Oklahoma last year. We would beat Oklahoma this year. To say we are not close to their level is just wrong. And I don’t mean necessarily this year, but as a program.

Bama record versus Clemson and OSU in playoff games says otherwise

LSU was still at one loss at that point, the season wasn’t already sunk for both teams.

But they are there more, more likely to lose when you’re there. Bama is a better program than Ohio State or Clemson, as is LSU. Clemson plays literally no one

Both were coming off seasons that they barely escaped being fired

Whoever lost that game was getting fired. Gus took that win out the deepest parts of his arse and then rattled off some big wins and ended up in the sugar bowl I believe that season

I'm with you. Clemson and Alabama are next level talent wise at the moment. However OU, Clemson and OSU have all received their fair share of beat downs by Alabama and have huge talent disparities in their conferences. It's not really comparable TBH. Our beatdown comes in the regular season that's the only difference.

I expect us to win a nail-biter. We may have to beat Aubie and the refs.

Exactly! Plus, we have three national championships this century - more than any of those yo-yos.

I wouldn't put Oklahoma in there. They haven't won anything significant in a long time. They only beat up on terrible big 12 teams. LSU is a better program.

i don’t think we are on par, program- wise with Clemson. We need to show we have some consistent dominance not just one great year. And then collapse. I don’t even think we are At Ohio State level either. Maybe Oklahoma. We really are almost identical to Auburn. We both have won NC’s recently but with flash in the pan type seasons, only to collapse down to earth right after.
