Plog -only faced 1 batter but FWIW he did not throw a first pitch strike, fell behind 2-1, gave up the single and was pulled for Cowan
In his defense, that batter hit it off his knuckles. That kind of contact will be an out 9/10 times.

Wonder if you have this…how many of the first pitch strikes were takes versus swinging. Also how many were FB vs off speed. If a guy can locate first pitch off speed I always find they’re really effective the rest of the game. When it’s only FB it eventually leads to hits or walks.
I didn't get that detailed. I was really just looking to see if the data backed up what I sensed was happening with falling behind in counts more often than not. If I do it again I'll try to capture more details to share.

Many teams start us off with 0-1, 1-2, 0-2 counts too
Would like to know that stat

yeah lot of ugly swings cause he’s fricking filthy
I would love to know the amount of movement he was getting on his change up. Having to gear up for 95 and then swinging at a ball that falls off the face of the earth will make anybody look dumb.

First 3 ball count was not until the 6th inning
