we've had a bunch of duo's in the past but, i seriously can't think of a better one than this tandem.

p.s.- i almost nutted when we threw to the tightend last night a couple of times.

Maybe Wendell Davis/Rogee Magee with Tommy Hodson comes close, but I like our current ones even better!

very sure handed duo. however, i've never seen this many non-routine catches made so early in the season.

it's phenominal. the just get everything close

Really need a third, maybe fourth to emerge. We play some teams that will take away one or both of these two. This will help the run game, however.
Grateful we finally have options in this regard.

Hopefully he and Desean Smith will. Certainly have the ability to.

Beckham has been unable to haul in a few tough catches in traffic this year. As we saw last night, I think his elevated play and higher profile will help him draw some PI calls in these situations this year.

i'm not saying they will be perfect but, i have never had more confidence in any receiver duo at lsu in my life.

I agree with this. Just as his brother was such a key to our 2007 team. And this time, we've got a couple of other really good TE's behind him. It would be nice to see Dural and Boone and Wright get some more balls just to make DC's worry about them too.

The question is...how are they so much more improved from last year.

Jarvis looks faster. Beckham looks sure-handed and quick as ever. They're getting open frequently. When they're not open, they make a play over the D.

For much of last year, their big play opportunities were squandered, and they just couldn't get separation from DB's.

They must have put in some serious work in the offseason.

I don't understand the disappearance of Boone.

Dural looked to be the one, then dropped back to back passes.

well not giving up on/ignoring the middle 1/3 of the field makes DBs have to guess a lot more in what routes they're running

THEY'RE NOT!!! For the 100th time...it's the oline!

Mett's probably improved some.
Landry and Beckham probably have, too.
Cam has made a difference.

But the gigantic factor that's changed is oline play. If Collins and Turner get knocked out everyone will be saying that the WRs and Mett went downhill late in the season.

i can agree with this. however, the catches that are making are not all routine. they are pulling in some amazing grabs and that really has nothing to do with the line.

Yea I'd take reed and Clayton regardless of whether or not Clayton is freshmen. Add in jerel Meyers to that team.

Dural had his chances last night. He will get open but he has to get his kahoonas secured so he can fight for the catch better. You can tell he is a little nervous out there. I think he will develop into another RR2 for us - just hope it is sooner than later.

Not impressed with Dural right now. Light in arse and very tentative on routes.
