We have a want to run the wildcat, but when the opposing team will not respect the pass from that formation they can load the box against the run
pretty pathetic excuse.
Considering you have 2 guys whom I would bet could complete a 10 yard pass to an open man.
Im sorry but if Marquis Maze can do it, Im pretty confident RS or Ware could do it.

I totally agree. Ive also been saying this for a long time. I thought at the start of spring practice and even at the end of summer camp the 'idea' was to line Shep up at WR...RB...and wildcat QB. Ive seen him run it from the RB pos. a few times but he always gets stopped bc when he lines up there the defense knows its going to be a run with him!

Not to mention spencer ware as well.
Didn't he run it in high school? I've heard that he's the best at running it during practice.

Also...and I know billy was only the WR coach at UF but you would think with our athletes he could implement some of same type of plays as the double option/inside pitch UF used...or sometimes faking that and going to TE. Play seemed to work well for them...

This is one of Les' biggest fails as the coach at LSU. In 2006 the Wildcat became popular at Arkansas. 4 years later, with almost every high school, college, and some pro teams running some variation of the wildcat at times, Les Miles refuses to run it. Our offense has ranked in the TRIPLE DIGITS in division 1 football for the last two years, and Les cries every week that he would like to get the ball in his play makers hands, but yet he continues to put our offense's fate in the hands of Jordan Jefferson (just like against Tennessee, Les thinks JJ is a better runner at the goal line than Ridley).
That alone is a fireable offense.
That alone is a fireable offense.

Something that baffles me also. Charlie and Gordy were discussing that is what they think Jefferson should be for. That is even stupid. We have the Number 1 ATH from two years ago and simply refuse to use him in that spot. Putting Jefferson in and taking Lee out when you could break the huddle and split Lee with RS taking the snap. No reaction time.

We have run exactly 1 wildcat play this season. Last year, we ran only a couple of wildcat plays. We put Shepard at QB many times, but we didn't run the wildcat but once or twice. A QB sweep, or a QB iso is not the wildcat.
this...it wasnt the true wildcat...it was a QB iso....
shep must throw once for it to work...and when he does throw...thousands of LSU fans will shite themselves in joy...

Rex, it is Obama's fault.
Just kidding.
Just kidding.

With the playmakers we have on offense, our weakness at quarterback and an improved offensive line, we should be running the Wildcat 15-20% of the time. Our offense should basically look like Arkansas circa 2007.

Just get warm and cozy with the fact that they are not going to do what makes sense.
