What I'm sick of are the heart attack games with poor clock management, horrid offense, and quitting in the second half.

So if our record stays the same and my game day experience improves, the grass is still greener for me with CLM gone. I done care to be in the NC hunt every single year

Les kept a lot of inferior teams in games with his philosophy over the years IMHO, but he had enough talent and enough good fortune to come out on top most times...I think some of the good fortune started to turn the other way in recent years.

I'll take 9-3.

Win every game except Bama (unbeatable).

Why not have it both ways? No more bad clock management and blunders with 10 win seasons and always in the title hunt?

Our team has the parts of a Ferrari but has been put together with a F250 instruction manual for the past 11 years, time a fix

We would've been lucky to see that under Miles. If thats the general consensus with CEO, then people might need to taper their expectations down a bit. He hasn't controlled this ship the entire offseason.

If we go 7-1 under his watch, then he deserves more time here.

Better prepare yourselves for a 4-4 finish at best. Fournette has an injury that takes several months to heal when you aren't playing football. The Oline is below average. Besides our inefficient passing game, our run D and pass D has been as well. At least our red zone D has stepped up, but how long does that last over the course of a season. Not to mention the teams left on the schedule are better than anything we have faced up to this point. And yes including Whisky. Better not over look Mizzou this week.

as long as we are winning the west every 3 years WGAF about record in the other years? that is consistently competing for titles which we have not seen the last 8 years here.

I agree 100%. Its college football. It should be entertaining and fun. Winning is a bonus with an interim head coach.

Well now...that's some pharmaceutical grade goal post moving right there! Whew...

So now, the goal of our fan base now that Miles is gone is NOT to win the SECW, the SEC and titles galore given our birthright as having the most talent in the nation...it's accepting what has long been called "mediocrity" so long it's it's fun on a bun while losing those 3 or 4 games each year?

Seriously...there are time when I fricking hate our fan base.

No. Its about expectations. The team is going through turmoil right now so our expectations should be lower. There is no reason we shouldnt have expected to compete under Miles with the recruiting classes LSU has had and the highest paid coaching staff in the Nation. Dont be myopic.

He did not seem to indicate that this was his preference for this season...but for all seasons. His title is "I can handle 9-3, 8-4 seasons"

He can feel free to elaborate, but it sure seems like he was saying he'd take those records so long as the play was what he considered to be more fun. Fat Bastard seemed to double down and suggested he'd not care what the seasons were like in between, so long as we'd win a SEC title every three or so years...seemingly eager for AU's level of a roller coaster type program than one of sustained success.

I'm all LSU all the time. I just find it humerus that Miles has been lambasted for not winning EVEN MORE and we seem to already be laying the ground work for excuses for this replacement, so long as his loses with more pizazz. Dunno...seems funny to me.

9-3 or maybe 8-4 is reasonable in a rebuilding year from time to time. Candidly, a program like LSU should be able to manage 10+ wins a year. The primary reason is LSU has the capability of doing this - recruiting base, facilities, resources etc. Not all programs have that.

Fair enough. I can live with that answer and I agree. OP should specify.

But in terms of this year??? Well, yeah...I agree entirely with you. Anyone suggesting LSU needs to win out at this point is crazy. From here on out, this year, it's out putting these guys that chose our program in the best possible position to get the most out of the time they have here for seniors and juniors who'll be leaving, keep guys healthy, and be set up to build for the future. Record ought to be completely thrown out the window this season.

BEYOND THAT, anyone who's already taking the position that all those Miles' records which caused them such anguish over the years will be fine and dandy so long as we achieve them in a more fun and gun manner needs to be ignored from here on out. You simply can't be taken seriously if for years and years you bitch about the record and not competing for titles only to turn around and move the goal posts to suddenly be accepting of the "mediocre" record so long as it's achieved via this new fun fun fun means.

Yea, I was referring to this year only. CEO is playing with house money right now. Expectations from the fanbase have been adjusted as far as wins but if we see the same tired offense march out there for the next few games expect pitchforks to come out again.

I think the biggest gripes were about the look of the offense and the underachieving with Miles. CEO is inheriting a talented team but a dysfunctional team. It will likely take some time to remedy the dysfunction. I think the fanbase understands this.
