Hickey (up until recently) has not been that great of a shooter. UK does not need anymore mediocre shooters on their roster right now. They would have still lost games with Hickey's career shooting percentage.

You agree with the OP that UK wishes they had offered Hickey TWO YEARS AGO? TWO! NOT LAST YEAR.

Do you remember UKs class TWO YEARS AGO?

So who do they not offer so they can get Hickey TWO YEARS AGO?

WHO?

the answer is they would have had to not offer teague. teague point guarded them to a NC. im sure they're really regretting it.

Many of them were saying just that after waching him lead his team to the state title. And after he played so well head up with Teague in the Kentucky/Ohio High School All-Star game.

Not that it matters, but its Kentucky/ Indiana.

I'm sure UK is fine with what they have. Hickey has been very good for LSU though.

I don't think they had room in their recruiting class for Hickey.

2 years ago they could have red shirted him. Whatever. Hickey gets the last laugh. Also, I don't care if he misses 55% of his shots because the kid rarely misses at the end. MONEY should be his new nickname.

I would care about yesterday if I were a Kentucky basketball fan. That National Title is something LSU will never win in basketball. That's the reason those kids play. They compete to win championships.

Duly noted.

Talked to alot of them at the SEC tournament last year. They were absolutely gushing over him.

As you say, they are fine with what they have, but I can tell you one thing, he'd get minutes for them right now. For what that's worth.

Was stating that Ky could have had him and redshirted him and he would be ballin for them this year. I'm out. Bigger fish to fry. Calipari is a cheat anyway. He don't deserve Hickey.

This isn't football. Top basketball programs recruit the best HS players to come in and play immediately and rarely redshirt anyone. What you are suggesting is that UK pass on Teague and take Hickey. Teague helped UK win the title and was the 29th pick in last year's NBA draft.

The real team that would be missing him in Kentucky would be Louisville. UK gets the absolute cream of the crop so long as Calipari is there.

Louisville and Pitino could be the ones shaking their heads.

This isn't like coaching, where if you are choosing a head coach you have to hire a head coach. Kentucky could have not signed one of those goofy tall white dudes (forwards/centers) that are practice players and sign Hickey. Just because Hickey is a guard does not mean he had to take away a scholarship from a KY guard (Teague).
