Ok, how about ACC defenses? I mean, Trevor Lawrence played against a bunch of non-SEC defenses too. Does that mean his stats were worthless since he plays in the ACC?

Oops. Then he ripped Alabama’s defense to shreds.

Your argument is shite.

What does the defenses Texas played against have to do with the ACC defenses? Nothing. Not even remotely relevant to the topic.

The Big-12 offenses vs the SEC defenses plus overall record head to head last season...

Big 12 vs SEC
Baylor (Vandy) - 45 points/667 yards
Oklahoma (Alabama) - 34 points/471 yards
Oklahoma State (Missouri) - 38 points/502 yards
Texas (Georgia) - 28 points/354 yards
Averages: 36.2 points/499 yards
Big 12 Record: 3-1 vs SEC

Now watch the outrage over reality lol

Are you too stupid to realize that we have our 3rd best SEC team play against other conferences #1 or #2 teams, etc. This happens quite often because the SEC always have a team in the playoffs (or two). Something Texas wouldn't know about. Again, about as irrelevant of stats as you can find.

NCAA Playoff
Alabama, the SEC champion vs Oklahoma, the Big-12 champion

Georgia, the SEC runner up vs Texas, the Big-12 runner up

Missouri, the SEC #7 team vs Oklahoma State, the Big-12 #7 team

And what does one bowl game matchup have to do with Texas playing SEC defenses week in and week out. Texas put up some points on Georgia, so did several SEC teams, but if Texas played the SEC for their regular season, Ehlinger's stats would suffer. Refute that.

Refute a hypothetical, unprovable statement?

Oh and BTW those are 3 bowl game matchups, not 1, (The Orange Bowl round 1 playoffs, The Sugar Bowl and The Liberty Bowl). Why are you so hell bent on arguing with facts while also pushing completely made up data and hypothetical scenarios that don’t exist? Even if his stats would slip a hair would that change his physical capabilities? Would 50-100 fewer yards change the way he runs or throws the ball? Does his 40 time suffer if he had 37 TDs instead of 41?

Well I guess you will just have to wait and see come the 2nd week of the season. I already know what's about to happen. We coming and we ain't backing down. Texas' season will be done by week 2. Of course, they may still get to claim the Big 12 South, but is that really a compliment.

I want the W and I want Texas to do as well as possible besides week 2 unless it means they’d be standing in the way of us getting a playoff spot. The better our opponents perform outside of losses to us the better it is for us.

That’s really all pointless. Someone could point out that the SEC has consistently had more players drafted by the NFL and its not close. Meanwhile the B12 is typically last of the P5 conferences in draftees.
Regardless, the separation between P5 programs is not that large.
Ehlinger is a good college QB. I think of him as Tebow lite. I’m not sure his game will translate to the NFL but he presents a challenge to our D.

If we're going to have a discussion, you shouldn't misconstrue what I say to fit your argument. I said Ehlinger is good, but not good enough to shoulder the load this season. I said that because Texas lost over half its defensive production, and just under half of its offensive production, from a year ago. I further said that Texas's recruiting from the last couple of years (which has been very good) won't factor in all that heavily in game two because those players have little game experience.

Your suggestion that I said "new players never play well" would be tantamount to me saying, "I guess a top 5 recruiting class two years in a row means they're gonna win the NCG?!"

Now, if you'd like to dispute any factual assertion I've made, feel free.
