I would like to see anyone on this board that could put himself in Miles shoes by being a Head Coach at a Major university. Its a tough job and this fanbase is really hard to please. Is he not using his talent right??? Doesn't look like it. But how you ANY of you do???? DISCUSS!!!!

None of us have to do the job. He does. And he's failing at it.

What do you think people have been doing on the Rant since time began? We have discussed and disgusted... it's clear Les Miles is at the center of the storm for a reason. We saw what that reason is last night on national television...

I still can't believe you started this thread. This is the most shocking thing I've seen since the coaching frick-ups last night.

He doesnt have to be a good coach but good manager. He should surround himself with good coaches but he doesnt seem to do that.

thats HIS job you idiot!!!!! He is supposed to be good at it!

There are High School coaches that make less than 50,000 who can manage a game better than Miles.

WE pay him 4 million and we pray to God that he doesnt totally screw things up. We are biting our nails every play just hoping we beat the play clock! If he were just average that would be great but he's not even close to that.

What people do as a profession is supposed to be what they are good at because they've trained for and done it all their life!!!

you argument is TERRIBLE.

No one is saying they could do better.

But, I know some that could.

Your argument is one of the most flawed in the book. We criticize the president, we criticize sport coaches because it comes with the job. They took it upon themselves to make a lot of money to be publicly exposed figures. They deserve all of the scrutiny and criticism they get.

People on these boards can't do better than Les, that's why we aren't football coaches. But we sure know when a football coach blatantly fricks up. This is LSU. Not North Texas.

You just do't want to admit that YOU couldn't do a better job.

So Miles is a better head coach than the average ranter? That's the thread he's hanging by?

He may be a better coach than me, but I do my job better than he does his, and I get paid a little less.

Give me 4 Million Dollars a year and I'll do whatever I have to to put myself in a position to succeed. If that means hiring smarter people around me to help me manage the game, then by all means.

Not to mention, give me that much money and I'd give 110% everyday. There is no excuse for confusion and bad decisions.

Yeah, it's a tough and demanding job. That's why he makes $4 Million a year. He has to assume everything that comes with the job, starting with responsibility! He asked the team to step up, and they did. They had victory in their grasp. They could taste the win. What failed was coaching. A "fatal" flaw? Time will tell. It ain't Miles first trip to the "dumb corner" for clock mis-management. He'd better start with a big-arse apology to the team AND the fans. No pussy-footin' around, just a big ol' "I F*cked-up! Please forgive me" kind of apology. That's for openers......

I just admitted no one on these boards including myself is a better coach than Les Miles. That's why I'M NOT A frickING FOOTBALL COACH.

This is the HIGHEST level of COLLEGE frickING FOOTBALL. You can not frick up LIKE THAT and get away with it.

And another thing...in business, 4M a year will go a long way in attracting quality leadership. Only in college football would this type of complete ineptness would be put up with on a continued regular basis.
