After the penalty it was the right call, but if it would have been on the 1, I would have scored. We cant erase a 30 point loss but we can ease some of the voting pain by winning by more than 7 against an unranked. It would help to sway just a few voters. That being said winning is always the most important thing, so Im not complaining about the knee. Ill take the W

Again, LSU lost 51-21 last week. We're not going to impress anyone for the rest of the season. See: Virginia Tech last year.

Best thing we can do is win, win, win. Period.

A good coach always goes for the win. Going for another score is not good policy. Too much could go wrong. What if......LSU did try to score, fumble, SC scores a TD, goes for two and wins. Then how many would have said, Coach Miles should have put the knee down and run the clock out.

Yes, put the knee down and always WIN......

I still remember Tommy Tubberville running the score up on LSU in 1999 and 2000, as does 99.99999% of the LSU fanbase. It's why he's so hated and is gasoline thrown on an open flame in our rivalry with them.

I think sure why not? That may be the last time we face Spurrier. He is getting old, SC is not getting any better. He may move on before we see him again. Why not send him away a bitter old man.

I'll commend it, as long as you don't bitch when LSU is left out as the third 1 loss team for the BCSNC.

What will you say when USC, who lost to a CRAPHOLE OSU team, edges out LSU who lost on the road to Top 10 UF team, squeaks past LSU for the #2 spot?

Right this minute, about 50 writers and coaches who DID NOT SEE THE GAME, are reading ESPN's headlines that say:

1- LSU ekes out at 24-17 win (over 5-2 SC)

2- USC lights em up!!! (over 1-7 Wash)

Who do you think they are voting higher???

Anyone hear the commentators during the Bama game say, after they announced tOSU's score, that "tOSU winning keeps moving USC up, up in the polls"... WTF? no one was even talking about USC!....sickening.

Style points don't matter anyway for LSU. If they lose at all, NO CHANCE at a national championship. If they win out, they're going to be behind all undefeated teams and probably behind 1 loss USC, no matter how they win.

If LSU would have plowed it in for the score, everybody would have thought ThaT was the smart play.

The really smart move would to have been to take a knee after KW made the 1st down. Les gave KW a few chances to score but unfortunately he couldn't punch it in.

This had nothing to do with class but everything to do with Common Sense. Class is not piling it on for no good reason other than embarrassing the other team. This was just a smart football move.

You can demonstrate class by making a common sense move, as LSU did last night. You can also try to be an a-hole and plow it in, have the ball pop out and a lineman pick it up and somehow outrun the skill players and score with a two point conversion for the win.

I remember LSU playing Vanderbilt in 1990 I think the year was. They were on LSU's goalline with a yard to go and needed a td to win. The back tries to leap over the line, and the ball pops up into the air into an LSU lineman's hands as he rumbled forward with nothing but green in front of him. Of course, he was tackled after so long. But I've seen crazy shite like that happen.

Wrong...you can guarantee that ANY 1 loss SEC champion WILL make it to the championship game.
Thanks to you I guess!

Provided that Penn State and the Big 12 Champion are not undefeated. (Big 12 has 3 undefeated teams)

I had people over at the house was complaining about NOT KICKING The FG...

I was saying, damn if they block it and return it then we go to OT;

Just take the penalty and kneel it out; SAFEST WAY and SUREST WAY TO FINISH A ROAD W in the SEC

Would have been to kneel it after KW got the 1st down, but Les wanted to give KW a chance to score bc he played such a great game IMO.

No, we needed the style points with more points, as well as the gut check that was the dominant 4th quarter performance.

It was 1991, and they didn't need a TD to win. We were only up 16-14. DiNardo could have taken a knee and kicked a FG to win it, but he decided to try for the TD first.

Style points help. Bottom line. Its stupid but they count. Its the system's fault. When you talk about style points you are asking for only a few voters to be swayed. The BCS often times comes down to a very thin line seperating teams, every little bit helps. The only way we can go to the Natl Champ. game is to win out and beat Florida in the SEC Ch. game. That win would negate the loss and people would forget the past and look at what we have done lately.
