I'd expect Gilbert to become the closer now with Bain/Reynolds as setup.

Not that bad of a crew to weather the storm. IMO Reynolds should drop down to the side. He throws from 2 oclock as it is.

Shouldn't the "best college baseball program" in the land be able to win at least 1 regional or super regional away from home?

The best program in the land shouldn't be playing regionals and supers on the road

In lsu's defense they haven't really had many opportunities to win regionals or supers on the road. Also usually when you are on the road you are the underdog so it's not really a surprise when you lose.

Next man up? You can't be serious ! LSU under Paul Mainieri simply doesn't recruit enough pitching to sustain a loss like this. He is a poor program manager and Alan Dunn is at best an average pitching coach. Very disappointing and that includes Newman as well. Champions find ways to be on the field.

You do realize we are limited on the number of players on the team right?
And I think most years, we are pitcher heavy vs position players. So many pitchers are missing right now it's ridiculous.

Our pitching could be lights out this year, but some kids got hurt, some decided to leave.

They throw too much!!! AD is good but not all kids can handle the amount of throws he requires. You only have so many throws in that arm.

Gilbert can't throw everyday as a closer. Had Tommy John in high school and can't bounce back that quick.

So Newman's back injury, which is unrelated to throwing and likely happened during a weight training workout, gives you the opportunity to criticize the coaches by saying they make pitchers throw too much?

HO-LEE crap!
