UGAs shooting pct from 3 had a lot to do with a change Wade made in our defense which coincidentally has more to do with 3-4 over our last 7 games than our 3pt pct. It’s a very good sign that we’re starting to find our deep stroke but I think sticking to what we did defensively vs UGA and not going back to what we were doing will be the key moving forward.

When are they going to move the 3 point line back at least a foot.. Way to easy the past 5 years. When a team Like Auburn or Florida relies on the 3 point game, it should be pushed back.

They moved it back before the season this year. It’s good now it’s at the international distance.

I held my breath during the UGA game a lot because a lot of their 3s were wide open. They just happened to miss them. I didn’t notice a difference in their style of play but I also wasn’t looking for one. Just noticed that they were wide open shots and we got lucky they missed them.

You’re right they did get some open looks off of breakdowns but that’s going to happen to most teams in most games and I thought we were sloppy early on. What I’m talking about is the difference in our guarding position when our D was set. We were much farther out on the perimeter players as opposed to the usual sagging defense we play. Now I don’t know if that was specifically done for UGA because they don’t really have an inside presence but you could easily see a different energy and speed to our defense. We were able to get out in transition more and we looked like a different team defensively.

Our offense with or without the 3’s is not the problem people. It’s defense.

the crowd that always blames LSU's struggles on (pick one or more): not have a PG; or poor shooting from 3; or "an offense that just stands still", etc to show them that NONE of LSU's struggles have been on offense and anyone constantly bitching about it is either uniformed or simply isn't paying attention.

Yeah, I'll wear this one. Counted one the the 11s on my notepad twice and threw the numbers off. Awesome to find out you've led the podcast with it and then doubled down on live radio. Oh, well. Point is they're shooting the ball better.

Skylar did shoot 40% from 3 in league play. Smart shot 38%.

None of it matter unless they guard better, but what I assumed would be a huge weakness really hasn't been for over a month.

Don't sweat it. You do great stuff and I think we all appreciate the hard work. Your point still stands even though the numbers may have been off a little.

40% from 3 point range = 60% 2 point shooting.

Did anyone say this?

You said it’s only 2 shots per game. 6 additional points per game is huge no matter how you slice it. Obviously, our defense is a bigger issue than 3 point shooting, but you can’t just dismiss two extra 3 pt shots a game as insignificant.

I’m not dismissing..I’m just saying the difference between the top of 3-pt shooting category and the bottom of 3-pt category is 2 made 3-pt shots out of 20. Defense, rebounding, not turning the ball over etc should more than make up for it. It’s way overblown

Yeah, it's funny - we were doing better when we couldn't buy a 3 and were turning the ball over at an alarming rate.

The last 10 games we are shooting much better, turning the ball over less and losing more. Probably mostly a result of the schedule getting tougher, but your are right - the one consistency is bad defense by us.

And at this point in the year it's band aids and quick fixes. IMHO it's going to take a philosophical change on WW's part to improve the D as much as personnel or anything else, and I think he realizes this and I think the changes will be made.
