I saw Haywood a couple weeks ago in Houston.....

The only correct answer is Hal Hunter. Dude is a legend.

Hal was a very good one. Spending time in the Pros now and doing well with the Chargers.

I am assuming you simply forgot to put Frank Wilson on that list, or did you intentionally leave him off?

If so, why would you not include him?

Searles is way at the top of this list. Too bad the philosophy of OL play is different from Leslie. He would love to still be here.

Because I'm not a recruitnik and don't know a damn thing about him, so from my perspective, the jury's still out on him. I had a couple of guys listed positively for recruiting, and one guy listed negatively, I think, but that's because those classes are well into the past. When it comes to stuff that Frank Wilson has done since he arrived in 2010, I won't count my chickens until they hatch. Not that somebody more knowledgeable about that stuff won't know, but I've just always been queasy about the idea of following recruits who haven't played for LSU yet.

I know. There have been 57 assistants at LSU since 1995. If you make a list in 45 seconds, people are going to laugh at a few of your choices or non-choices .... more so than making a preseason Top 25 poll, which is also harder to do than it seems until you actually have to do it, by the way.

I know. I'm not sure why someone would list folk like Phil Elmassian or Tim Walton or even Mike Haywood. I think Muschamp is clearly the most talented.

He'll have his shot as the HC, best of luck to him.

In no particular order

Will Muschamp
Jimbo Fisher
Chief
Frank Wilson
Haywood
Morris Watts
Ron Cooper
Bo Pelini
Monken

Ive seen a lot of Searles mentioned. I cant think of a more overrated asst coach in recent mind except for maybe crowton after year 1. Our lines perpetually sucked balls for the first half of the season, by the end we were good I will admit that, but by then the oline had cost us a game or 2. When he left people were happy.

What did Mike Haywood do that impressed? I remember he was special teams coach when we had D Davis and then Skyler Green. Those two guys were great but blocks in the back and holding penalties killed us. Once Haywood left and Dooley was made special teams coach the penalties ceased. Green continued to be spectacular and the runs counted.
