In your scenario, Florida would have at least won the SEC. Bama didn't last year, they didn't even win their half of the conference.

this still pisses me off. every time I hear some media or bama douche pontificate about how the bcs got it right I get the urge to lock and load. no championship game participants should ever be determined by who has the most talent....it should be determined by who has earned it. hopefully the future quasi-playoff will eventually become a real playoff like the other divisions in college football.

In your scenario, I wouldn't care. UF would have beaten us twice, won their division and their conference.

2011 Bama doesn't compare to that. Bama was essentially rewarded for losing their biggest game of the season at home to us.

Precisely. I would be disappointed because we lost, but hats off to Florida. Better team and all. If they beat us twice, they deserve it.

We beat Bama by a score of 20-19 then go on to the SEC championship game and lose to Florida once again by a score of 27-9. That would mean we lose to the same team twice and that one team ruins our championship hopes twice. Doesn't this scenario sound very similar to last year except that we beat Bama once. Still though Bama basically ruined our chances twice last season. How would you feel if we were basically #2 once again?

The worst part of this scenario is that Bama would still screw us because they would get a BCS bowl at 12-1 while at 12-2 we would be looking at the Cotton bowl or worse. Even though we beat them.

i know it comes across as sour grapes, but I just don't think they are that good. They remind me of USF when they were #2 in the country a few years ago.

Florida isn't that good. They have caught the 2 best teams they've played on days when they played their worst football of the year, plus both LSU and USCe had key players who were injured.

Their passing game isn't much better than ours, if it is any better. Their running backs aren't better than ours, and neither is their defense. Unfortunately for us, we have wideouts with butterfingers, we play undisciplined and sloppy football which generates turnovers and penalties, and we're saddled with very pedestrian play calling, which is not difficult to defend against.

Even with all of that, we they still only scored TDs when our defensive starters were out of the game.

I think they would beat UF if they were to play again. The offense was on a different level of bad that day.

Same here. Even the inconsistant execution seen against USCe and aTm would have been enough to defeat UF. The defense deserved a better fate.

I would be all like "Les, I am disappoint."

Then the sun would rise the next morning and i'd be alright because we beat Alabama.
