How would our fan base be right now if we had Texas' recruiting class?

A majority of people on this board would have taken Herman over O. With all that money, facilities, and cash they have, and a super fertile recruiting ground, 7 commits and ranked 37th?

If this were reversed what would be happening with our fan base right now?

They dont take a lot of early commits.

The last 2 cycles they only had about 10 commits at this point.

Reviewing the Top 100 in Texas (all the 4 and 5 star players), it doesn't look good for them going forward. It's obviously early, and that can change, but the question is, how would our fanbase be RIGHT NOW, if this were reversed?

Commitments don't mean shite until they sign. LSU is great at getting early commitments & being unable to keep them all. Hope that changes.

Welcome to the recruiting world
LSU has no more decommits than any other top team on a year to year basis

What big recruit did we lose last year that was committed to us?

Not sure what you're talking about but they are considered a leader or in lead group for about 6 Texas guys in the Top 160 overall in the country right now. That's not a bad spot to be in.

They also dont live off Texas talent only. 8 of their 4-star or better players last cycle came from outside the state of Texas and they dont have any at the moment right now. They have a lot of space to fill still.

Herman letting the next Leonard Fournette leave the state of Texas is a bad look no matter how you spin it.

Say that we’re slow playing prospects to make a splash in December.

Ehhhh, hard to quantify everything from everyone but the last few cycles I'd say we definitely are way above the average.

In 2017 we only had 5 decommits, but in 2018 we had 14 (which is insane) and in 2019 we had 7 (not bad). In 2020 we're already up to 6 (I would go to bet AT LEAST 2 more to come).

Top Decommits (Top 100 overall players) from 2017-2020:
'17 Dylan Moses
'17 JaCoby Stevens - got him back
'17 Jhamon Ausbon
'18 Adam Anderson
'18 Caden Sterns
'18 Kelvin Joseph - got him back
'18 Justin Watkins...definitely dodged a bullet there
'19 Derek Stingley - got him back
'19 Kenyon Green
'19 Jaren Handy
'20 Jaquelin Roy

I wouldn't suspect he ever signs an elite back at Texas. He is not known for using his RBs really since becoming HC. The QB run game takes up a ton of carries.

Alot of this could change based on how each season goes for either team. if texas makes playoff and LSU does not then texas could be top 5 recruiting and LSU out of top 10.

Texas signed the #3 class last year. O signed the #15 class, which has already lost like 6 freshman and 2 JUCO signees.

I'd be worried about LSU's 2020 class at this point. About to lose a 5* WR, iffy on two top in-state DL, losing a top in-state OL to Georgia. Things could either go well or very, very bad for O and LSU come signing day.

Ummmm.... hello. LSU signed the #3 class last year, and Texas the 4th.

As expected, people can't answer a single question and instead deflect. I also love the excuses people make for a team they don't even like, but grant O very little room for error.

Typical.

If this were reversed, no matter who we thought we had, our fanbase would be in complete catastrophe mode.

Recruiting classes don't mean a lot in June.

they've had top 3 classes the last two years. It's only June, by the way.
